Review: Fantastic tool - Wow, what a fantastic tool to bad Kimber doesn't include it with gun, expedites the take down time for cleaning or matinence balked at the price at first but after using the kimber takedown tool( the piece of wire) several times having to readjust it so you can remove the guide rod and spring assembly I thought there has to be a better way! Flat wire guide rods are 0.250" diameter, Kimber Pro and Compact guide rods are 0.326" to 0.328" in diameter. It uses a full length guide rod which requires it's spring plug to be captured under tension to provide enough clearance to allow the guide rod and barrel to be removed from the slide for cleaning.
