I replaced the old 80 GB hard drive with one of these 250 GB A/V drives. I cloned the old drive with Winmfs software I got free off the internet and now it works great. Because the TiVo still uses IDE (also known as PATA) hard drives, which haven't been common in desktop PCs in more than 5 years the variety of A/V (audio/visual) drives has decreased the the price has started to go up. When this drive fails in a few years (not unreasonable consideringt eh TiVo is running 24/7) I wonder if I will be able to buy a replacement for it without paying through the nose.As for the drive itself no problems so far, these drives to work well in my TiVo's (both my TiVo's have this exact drive now) they last a reasonable amount of time and perform well.
