Catit PIXI Drinking Fountain, Stainless Steel

My cats have been through 2-3 of the og Catit style fountains. They like them, though I have to keep the fountains from their food, because *someone* likes to drop food in them. My cat daughter thinks she’s a raccoon, I guess. I’ve had an issue though with the filters on the old one getting black larvae of some sort in them. Idk if it’s the filters themselves or the fact that I live in an old house that is still a little too open to things that need to not make themselves at home inside. I’ve tried the name brand filters and generic, and it’s happened with both and it’s disgusting, and likely not healthy for my wee fuzzbutts. So I bought this one. Right away- they don’t have to contort themselves to get a drink. I like that there’s a very visible indicator that a refill is needed, and it’s easy to refill without making a mess. Love that. It’s also really cute, which is just a fun bonus. Be aware though, that if you have a cat who dreams of being a raccoon- they can still drop food into it. And it might not be obvious until you wash it. Maybe she likes cat chow flavored water, idk. But they like this fountain and it’s overall easier to clean and refill, so raccoon away, I guess. She’s a well hydrated raccoon, at least!

We have two of these, and we love them. Our cats love them and we had no difficulty transitioning them to drinking from these fountains. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy the one with wifi bc it is approximately 10000000x harder to clean. This one, without wifi, is the easiest thing in the world to clean so it's super easy to have quick confidence that my cats are not drinking water filled with mold. We love this fountain!

I like the idea, but the pump went out and had to but a replacement pump.

Buyer beware: The motor keeps failing, cable, motor and the fountain itself gets a lot of mold, severe health issues. At first the fountain was good, I decide to take the risk with this brand because I know them for a time, but after one month, the problems started, fountain stops working, it gets a lot of mold inside of it around the base, cable inside the water and motor itself. This made my purchase the worst thing ever, wasting a lot of money to just see a cute blue cat doing nothing more than wasting electricity, because even deeply cleaning the motor itself, it doesn't resolve the issue, making it frustating to know what really happened, it's nice and big but issues like this make it not even situable to use it as a single plate for water because the plastic is so cheap and bad that it contaminates the water by itself, making it have severe health issues for your cats. Be careful before buying this, there are other brands cheaper and better, I have another fountain from another brand, no problems and still working like the first day since day one, but this one, a few months later decide to stop working. UPDATE AFTER A YEAR: Don’t buy it, the motor keep’s dying after three days or so even with heavy cleaning, the green stuff growing on it it’s extremely toxic for cats, this fountain doesn’t have any kind of protection or safety protocols, the cable gets rusts inside causing it to break and open causing more problems in the water, the worst fountain for the price.

I have an older cat and really wanted to get a water fountain in the hope she would drink more. I needed something that would be really quiet since she dislikes strange noises, was easy to clean, and had a metal drinking base. After looking at several models I ordered this super cute Catit Pixi fountain. Setting it up was easy and I love that the filter is secured into place. While it's easy to see the red light, meaning low on water, seeing the fill line is difficult. I have adjusted to seeing the fill line when I stand back from the fountain. It does hold quite a bit of water. It's also extremely quiet, the only noise you hear is the sound of the water streaming out of the spout hitting the metal. When I called my cat over and said look at what you got, she splashed her paw in it. She has never done this before. She didn't go near it for several days so I started the process of training her to use it. I began unplugging for periods of time during which she would drink out of it, then plugging in it. Now it's plugged in all the time and she drinks from it constantly. I waited until I needed to do a filter change to post this review. Again, it was easy to clean and change the filter. The pump didn't need to pulled apart but I did rinse it clean as it fell slimy. I'm very pleased with this product and will need to get the new rechargeable model in case the power goes out. I don't think my cat could go without this now.

I went with the stainless steel one because I read it harbors less bacteria than plastic. Then I relize the body of the fountain is plastic. So here's my 2 cents Pro: - My cats took to it quickly. They love that is flows all the time. I have one that's wireless and it only flows when the cat walks into the room. They are not a fan and drink from this one a lot more - The fountain is dang cute. How can you not like it? - Capacity is ok. I fill it up every Thursday and it lasts about a week - Quiet. Con - The body of the fountain is plastic - After a few months I see a residue buidling up no matter how much I clean it. My home has hard water - The pump clogs frequently. That's just how it is. But as others have said, a goo builds up if you don't clean it regularly - My pump actually broke after a few months. I just went online and got a similar one for a few bucks. Overall a good fountain but I am going to toss it and switch to a ceramic one or one that does not have plastic as its main body. Its not just about cat acne, but the bacteria that builds up in plastic. If this company were to make one out of ceramic or non plastic, I'd buy one

I have 4 very picky boy kitties. They have had multiple styles of water bowls and this was the third water fountain I tried. This is a winner!! First, it is quiet. I hate hearing the sound of the water all the time so the fact that I can't hear this one unless the water drops too low is really a win already. The price is another great factor. It is equal or less to other kitty fountains. The ease of cleaning is fantastic. I have had 2 other fountains that had so many parts to disassemble and clean out that it took so long to deal with. This is really simple. I like the window to see the water level and the little light is a fun add on bonus. The design is so cute. As for the picky boys -- they love it. I have one that likes to use his paws to drink. This fountain allows for that but because the top only has a shallow amount of water, he can't dump too much out. I have one that likes to drink directly from the running spout part. The other 2 use the top bowl section and seem to be good with it. I ended up buying a second one for another part of the house. The filters are easy to put in and not too expensive. Best water fountain by far -- Human and cat approved!!

Ok was super excited for this product but I’m 50/50 on overall rating after a few months of use. PROS - larger bowl with running water if that’s what your cat likes, blinking light to tell you water is low, cat enjoys it, and it’s nice and quiet. Also, cute matching feed bowl! CONS - filters easily come apart (see pics), this has happened to 2 of 5 filters, Doesn’t seem to really “filter” the water, have to throughly wash all parts on a very regular basis to prevent build up. Over all, I’m just ok with the performance of this product… Using because I paid for it, but I wouldn’t highly recommend. Update… finally threw this out and went with a battery operated system. It wasn’t worth the very constant need to clean the unit and the poor designed filters.

Es la segunda que compro, primero tuvimos el modelo verde y nos ha durado 4 años. La luz dejó de funcionar a los dos años o así pero el motor y tal iba perfecto, por eso hemos vuelto a confiar en esta marca 😬

Bellissima!!!!!! Misura perfetta, bel colore, si illumina di notte, silenziosissima. Quando l'acqua scarseggia, lampeggiano i baffi. Molto capiente, l'acqua dura tantissimo. Jnico difetto, si impolvera un pochino la zona dietro all'erogatore, dove non passa acqua. Basta pulire con una spugnetta. Lo consiglio

We chose this as our cat was drinking out of a blue bowl that we had to keep filling up. Straight away he was over giving it a sniff. Excellent quality and it is easy to put together and keep clean. It holds a lot of water and the whiskers on the front are a great indicator of how well the cat likes it. NB order extra filters as there is only one in the box.
