MI Gen2 SUB 2000 T1/T2 Optic Mount

Very Cool Concept ... But Won't Hold Zero
Even though this product has a pretty low customer rating (2.9 I believe), I thought the concept was worth giving it a try. Unfortunately, the mount just couldn't hold a zero. I'd get the optic (Holosun HS503CU) zeroed and it would shoot a nice tight group for maybe 10 rounds, then starting shooting high ... considerably ... like 12 inches high at 50 yards. When I examined the mount, I noted that two halves of the mount weren't tightly locked up, but instead slighly ajar, probably from the Kel Tec Sub 2000's recoil, which can be pretty stiff for a 9mm PCC. If I wiggled the mount a little to reseat the lockup between the two halves, it would return to zero. About 10 rounds later, shooting way high again. So, I returned this mount and went with a LaRue LT660 QD instead. When the rifle is collapsed (folded), I move the optic to the bottom rail, them move the optic back to the top rail after unfolding back to its ready-to-fire functional state. The MI mount is a really cool concept, but I think the design might be a little flawed in terms of its ability to maintain a positive lockup between two halves. Oh well.

I really like this mount
I really like this mount! It fits with the kel-tec like it belongs there. Install was simple, loc-tight was even provided. I just haven't had a chance to see if it will hold a zero after usage. The only knock I have on it is the para-cord to hold back the charging handle, this could be done better.UPDATE:After a trip to the range my mind has changed. The mount will not let my Holosun 503C hold a zero. Theswivel on the mount does not return to the same position every time. Of course I'm out of my return window by about ~25 days or this would be going back. Knocking it down to 1 star. Looks like I just wasted $100 unless Amazon or M.I. makes this right.

I've never wanted to like a product so badly before
Like a lot of people here, I viewed the Midwest industries mount to be the best solution I could find online to mounting a red dot sight on Kel Tec Sub 2000.I installed this very carefully, I even took apart my foregrip to make sure the MLok tabs were seated properly, I even listened to some advice I read online and made sure that the mounting bolts weren't contact the barrel (they weren't at first anyways).Messing around with it at home it worked so slick, I was VERY pleased with my purchase, and I excitedly headed to the range to site in the Vortex Sparc 2 I chose to mount on it.Got it zeroed pretty quickly at 25 yards, and everything seemed really good so I decided to back off to 50 yards and that's when the trouble began. I noticed the shots were starting to spread out laterally, then horizontally as well. The hotter the gun got, the more erratic it started shooting. I found out later that this was due to either the barrel heating up and expanding causing contact with the mounting screws, or else the foregrip itself shifted a little bit. When I examined the rifle, I noticed that the mount itself was very securely mounted to the foregrip still, however the swivel point has loosened up already, and this was from only 40 rounds or so through the rifle.I brought it home, saw two little nicks in the barrel where the screws were rubbing on it. I took it all apart, and redid all my previous work hoping to find something I could change to tighten this thing up. After about a week I had to admit defeat and start the return process. Its the way they've designed the swivel, there is just no way to lock it up tight enough. Even just putting light pressure on the optic will cause the point of aim to shift substantially, that's why I would hold zero at 25 yards, but as soon as I backed off further the point of aim and point of impact grew substantially.I emailed Midwest industries with some suggestions for a version 2 if they ever make one, with no response. But I still think this mount is a viable solution, all they need to do is add a way to lock the mount swivel into the firing position, with a lever, or even a spring loaded pin, that would be push button released.Ultimately, I wanted this to work so badly, but its a flawed product. I will buy a version 2 if they ever release one and try again.

Holds Zero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bought this to use with a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 Red Dot on my Keltec. Early Febuary I installed everything and took it to the range to sight in. Didn't have much time that day to play and see how well it kept zero after moving the mount back and forth (my nephew had a cancer benefit, had jsut enough time to sight in before hand, I hate guns that are not sighted in). A month alter, after many, many times folding and unfolding the carbine (and in the processturning the mount) I had a chance to hit the range again. The thing held zero. Probably been moved 200 times (showing folks the gun) and no difference, stuck in a magazine, aimed at some of my steel plates 75 yards away, and boom, hitting every one. Set paper up at 25 yards, new mag, and boom, all hitting a super nice tight group right where the dot was aimed at. If your having issues, make sure you ahve a decent red dot for one, and make sure you use some purple loctite on all the screw so things stay nice and tight. I'm loving this mount!

Worked exactly how I wanted it to. I did ...
Worked exactly how I wanted it to. I did find with my holosun 503bu that I could mount it one hole forward and not have to keep charging handle back. That way there's no fears of the bolt slamming into optic.

The swivel part of the mount isn't tight enough to hold a red dot at zero
The swivel part of the mount isn't tight enough to hold a red dot at zero. Used blue Loctite on all the screws. I tried everything short of taking it apart, but it just bounces around with every shot. It would shoot right then left then high. Just not functional for me trying to use this on a short rifle course at my local 3gun matches. I had high hopes for this since I have an M/I fore grip on my AR that I love. Probably should have just gone with the Red Lion fore grip in the first place like I'm about to order now.
