No it isn't. The user can choose one of the three bars to hold onto. They can also start on the bottom rail and “climb” up the other two, like a ladder.

I'm looking for something to help alert if someone turns over and keep them from falling out the bed not actually helping them up. Will this work?

No. This only helps someone position themselves or stand. There's no 'alert' portion to how it works.

Poor quality control- disappointing

Whilst it a good standard. I did not appreciate the poor quality control on the dispatch item. Plastic top missing and scratched and marked all over. I would have returned it had it not been, for the fact that my mother who has dementia had to move in with me during this period of the CV-19 pandemic. I’m expecting the seller to compensate me for this.

A huge help

This support stand has been a real help for my 99 year old father as he manoeuvres himself in and out of his wheelchair. It’s remarkable sturdy and gives him just the support he needs to stand, however briefly. Happy to recommend.
