Question 1

I believe Gold is worked at 4-7v but how many amps?  Also, are these numbers the same for all materials of gold, silver, platinum, and nickle? If not?

It depends on which company you buy your gold solution from, they all operate a little differently.  Our gold solution works best a 4-5 volts.  If you set your voltage to 4.5 volts and start brush plating, the Amperage will fluctuate, changing dramatically from second to second.  How much amperage is flowing depends on a lot of variables such as how much of the sleeve is making contact, how saturated the sleeve is, and other similar factors. Therefore, you should monitor your voltage while plating instead of Amp's, especially with brush plating. For tank plating you can get more advanced and use amp's, but that's a different discussion.  As for your second question: Not all solutions use the same voltages, that being said almost all of them do operate in the range of 1-9.

How large an area can be plated with the 2 oz of solution, approximately.

A 2oz bottle of our 24K brush gold solution contains .7g fine-gold and can cover approximately 300 square inches of area to a thickness of 10 micro-inches.  If you plate it twice as thick you will get half as many square inches of coverage, if you plate it half as thick you will get twice as much coverage and so on.

Yes, you can plate directly onto most pewter with gold.

can i plate a large metal helmet?

The size of the item isn't an issue with brush plating.  What the helmet is made of is very important.  If it is made of a basic metal, such as brass, bronze, silver, copper, etc., it will work great (if polished before plating).  If it is steel, stainless steel, aluminum or zinc - it will not work.
