This Apestomen hair clay works like pretty much every other hair clay out there. You take some into your hands and rub them to soften it up and make it easy to apply to your hair. It gives you plenty of time to work into your hair and style it how you want. It sets well and holds your hair in place for pretty much an entire day. I didn't notice any shininess from it. I didn't have any problems washing it out of my hair. It also has a pleasant citrus-like scent.It is fairly high price, being at the top end of the hair clay / pomade price range. It only has 2.7 ounces of product compared to the 3.0 ounces and higher of most others. While it looks to be about the same size as many others and therefor not terribly more expensive, it is deceptive and is actually a fair bit higher price.

I will definitely buy it again. Some of the nicest clay hair product I’ve ever bought. The scent is very light, personally I would’ve enjoyed more but I can’t really complain. I still think it deserves 5 stars.

This "Apes To Men" hair clay is *incredibly* strong. It is...difficult to use, you have to rub it into your hands well and may need to run damp hands through water to actually style your hair afterward. That's pretty typical of this type of product, tbh.Smells like a good product too, aka, slight scent when applying that disappears quickly. IMO, hair product scent should not linger.I do hate how every hair product is now in a tub that is deceptively bigger than the amount of product you get (this one has a fake outer wall, the actual tub inside is smaller), but they can't lie on the actual size, 2.7 ounces.

Works well. application is not incredibly easy, but is consistent in application and results. Long and lightweight hold. Little to no fragrance. Will buy again.

First off, this clay is not for the weak of heart. It has a very strong hold. We're talking Mohawk strong. With that being said, I use just a tiny amount, less than a pea size, into my damp hair and work it through for a matte finish that keeps it in place all day. My nose doesn't work well, so I can't tell if it has a smell or not, so if it does, it can't be that strong. It washed right out the next day with no issue. There's a good chance I'll get this again!

I was so excited to try the Apestomen hair clay. The scent is bergamot/lemon but not purely. There is a cologne-esque vibe to it.You do not need a lot. Whatever scoop you normally use for other clays, try starting out with about half or even 1/3. The hold and texturizing characteristics are impressive. If you mess up, you can easily wash out with water and start again. I say this because there is a drying effect that is hard to describe, and I had to work with the clay for a few times before I got it right.2.7 ounces is about $15 USD. Because you need less product, I think this will last me a while.
