XIAKE Unisex-adult Safety Vest With 5 Pockets Vest

I bought this reflective vest for my sister as a funny yet not-so-funny Christmas present. She is completely deaf in one ear and has some hearing loss in the other, so her safety while out and about is a major concern. She is a walker and often walks up to 5 miles per day for exercise. Because of the heat she often walks in the early mornings or late evenings. Our family’s concern was that she would not hear a car horn sounding a warning as it came suddenly upon her not having seen her from a distance. I often teased her about gearing up in a reflective suit for visibility, security, and protection. Whenever we happened to be in a location that sold reflective gear when we traveled together, I would choose a selection and model it for her gently encouraging her to purchase. As Christmas approached, I decided that since she would not purchase a vest for herself, I would give her one for Christmas. This particular one seemed to be exactly what I was looking for and at a reasonable price. Of course when she opened the package on Christmas morning everyone laughed while breathing a sigh of relief at the same time. A few weeks later she sent me a picture of her getting ready to leave the house to walk with her dog. She was wearing sunglasses, a knitted hat, a scarf, and the vest over her coat while her little dog sat at her side at attention. She joked that she had dressed for the “Volunteer Presidential Security Detail”! Seriously though, for safety and security reasons, every exercise walker should consider wearing a reflective vest or gear of some type at all times but especially during the early morning or evening hours. I, for one, am surely glad that my sister has been for the past almost 7 months now not only the proud owner but also the proud wearer of a bright, neon yellow, reflective vest. I was looking for a cheap safety vest to keep handy for roadside emergencies, and this fit the bill. I was surprised at the quality when I received it, and the appearance is the same as much pricier vests. It is very lightweight with handy pockets for small items. I cannot yet speak to the washability, but it appears durable enough.

Let’s be honest: safety orange is fine, but this pink? This pink says “Yes, I operate heavy machinery, and yes, I exfoliate.” Wore this to the job site and instantly became the Beyoncé of construction. The reflective strips? Blinded a forklift driver 50 yards away (he was fine, but emotionally unprepared). The 5 pockets? Oh honey, they hold everything. Tools, snacks, a tiny bottle of hand sanitizer, and the shattered egos of my male coworkers. Not only did I feel safe and seen, I also felt seen. Like—really seen. Like “Did she just show up to a job site looking like a fabulous traffic cone?” seen. In short: this vest didn’t just make me more visible, it made me unstoppable. Good fit and appears well made. Definitely gives extra nighttime visibility when walking the dog.
