Genie authentic G3T-R 3-button Intellicode garage door opener remote with, works only on Genie openers, single pack

Set up was easy worked great on my old garage door from 1999. This is my second replacement but only because my husband broke the last one running it over and I would definitely buy this again.

I have the old style remote for my garage opener and it was an absolute pain. First, the range is iffy, I usually have to press the button 3 or more times back up, pull forward to find that sweet spot where it will open the garage. I'm not kidding, tried replacing the battery, to no avail. That's not even the worse thing, the most annoying issue however, is the rattling this remote makes when you clip it to your sun visor. It's so annoying, I got into the habit of pulling it down and tossing it in the cup holder just to get the rattling to stop. I've even seen YT videos of people disassembling the remote and placing tape against the buttons to stop that annoying rattle. I really didn't want to go to that length, so I started looking for replacements. I was ecstatic when reading the specs revealed this remote was compatible with my opener. It took less than a minute and worked on the first cycle! Not only does this have a nice modern look, bit it doesn't make a sound at all while driving. Buttons are rubbery to the touch and the button press is smooth with no tactile clicking. The star feature is the range, I can literally be 3 or 4 houses down and press the button and my garage immediately opens always on the first press. Great purchase

Easy to install, works great!!

We have an Older Genie garage system, the remote programming easy by following inserts. Remote is approximately 1.5" x 3" with little aluminum hook, no excess weight for blinds. I hated jumping out of vehicle to open & close, now I have a Remote that works. Im hoping this will operate for yrs.

My original Genie garage door opener remote had been a faithful companion for over twenty years, but it's single, circular button had literally melted to sticky goo. I had my doubts when I received this replacement remote because my Genie garage door opener is older than 1995--it was installed when the house was built in 1977. I had no luck programming it from reading the included instructions or watching Genie's YouTube videos. I was stuck until I read the Amazon user reviews which explained how to activate Intellicode 1. A few short minutes later--success! If, like me, you have an older Genie garage door opener, you may also have to activate Intellicode 1 to make it work. Here's how to do it: First of all, make sure you and others are clear of the garage door while you're programming the garage door opener. You don't want any pets or children around while you're doing this, for their safety, because the door moves rather abruptly if your programming is successful. It may startle you too, so be prepared if you're standing on a ladder so that you can reach the opener's "learn" button. You don't want to fall off when the door suddenly opens! All right, let's get down to business: Pull out the plastic tab from your remote to activate its internal battery. Choose one of the three buttons on your remote and hold it down for about ten seconds, until the red LED also turns green. Both colors, red and green, will be visible within the bulb. Next, push the "Learn" button on your Genie garage door opener. A red light will come on beside the button on the unit. Then, on your remote, press once and release the same button you held down for ten seconds just once. The red light on the opener will flash red rapidly. Press once and release the same button on your remote again, and the red light will go off. Press the same button on your remote one more time and the garage door will open or close, depending on its previous position. That's all there is to it! I like the compact size of this unit and the way it clips securely to my sun visor. The visor clip fits snugly to the remote, too, and should stay there. I've read some reviews that this remote is spotty and doesn't always work. I'll let you know how mine performs in a later review. For now, I'm happy that I have a garage door opener remote that works. Hope this helps.

Very easy to program to your garage door opener. Works well, with good range. Only one small complaint might be that remote buttons are easily (inadvertently) pushed while in your pocket. Could open a garage door without realizing it if you’re around back of the house. Would be a nice upgrade if they had a little protective slide cover for the buttons when you’re not using the remote. Otherwise, very convenient to have remote right on your keychain with you.
