Yes, the opening of the pet tent is big enough, you can put your hand in it and touch every corner of the tent, the space is very large. Not sure how big a litter box you want, but it should be no problem. I only put a few toys and their water bowls.

Can I see my cat/dog through the mesh? The mesh looks too dense to really see-through.

It's actually very "clear" like looking through a screen window.

Is this okay for medium-sized cats?

I think medium-sized cats may not be used, and may only be suitable for kittens. I bought it for hamsters.
