I bought the beets to stop my dog from scratching but I don't think it's helping.

This has saved my dog’s skin. My poor mixed breed, 70 pound dog, has the worst skin. Living in Florida, we have allergen problems all year round. After about a month of putting the beets in his food, he no longer is losing patches of fur, his skin is less flaky, it’s really been a godsend. We’ve tried all the medications and this really seems to work better for him than what we’ve tried in the past. I’m not anti medicine, but I love that this is a healthy way to help control his bad skin without the side effects that constant medication can cause.

Seemed to help with my senior Golden Retriever’s skin allergies. She is food obsessed so no issues with recommended amount of beet granules sprinkled on her food. However she is hefty and on a diet but is not losing weight (actually gaining a few pounds). Further investigation shows few side effects but one: high sugar content. A shot from the vet has worked wonders for her itching and hopefully her excess pounds will decrease with elimination of this additive.

Olewo’s red beet grandulars has been a hit for our pups meals. It smells good, full of nutrients and no need to rehydrate- just mix right in, place as a meal topper. Full of antioxidants, supports immune system, reduces inflammation and helps with cell development- folate and potassium !

Neither of my dogs have severe skin issues. My collie mix has a bit of dry skin under all her fur in her rump. I don't think it's changed at all, but the dogs love this on their supper every night. I can't attest to any improvements for allergies but I can't imagine it hurts to feed it to them as prophylaxis.

My lab is on anti Itch medication during spring to fall bc of allergies. He usually takes it every day. Now he only has to take it every other day. He's been on the beets for almost 2 mo ths and it took about 2 weeks to notice the effects.
