Back in the Day: Mini Edition

The book is huge, high quality and the content is awesome, if you experienced this generation and was a part of the skate scene then this book is a must have. I was hoping the book would be good, it wasn't, it was absolutely spectacular and far exceeded my expectations, five stars is not enough, this is a 10 plus. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. After spending time reading over the content and really taking the time to take in the photos all I can say is Jay boy would be pleased, very pleased.... And I can’t think of better way to give this book a higher recommendation.

Great book, wonderful read, and fascinating stories!

Bought this as a gift. My dad and uncles were pioneers of skateboarding. It was for my brother, but everyone in my family spent an hour or two looking it over! Very cool book, highly recommend for skateboarding historians and fans.

Love this book. It has taken me back to a very special time in my life. Its all there. Right out of the magazines I grew up reading and the current retrospective commentary on these images is great. Highly recommend it!

Such a great book. Incredible photos by a master. Interesting stories from the skaters. Its a big, heavy and well made book. Make sure you have a well made sturdy coffee table. Ozzie did a great job putting the book together.

Wow! What an awesome book.Page after page of amazing photographs and back stories.I recommend that anybody who skated back in the day or has an interest in 70's skateboard history needs to buy this book.

A superb book for anyone but even more so if you were involved in the greatest era of skateboarding so far: 1976-1980.I was there and I greatly appreciate this book. I spotted it on the Alvaskates website, Tony Alva's store (he's in this book of course) and was very surprised that Amazon UK had copies in stock. 14 hours later and it was mine! It's big, heavy and expensive but worth it. The Amazon packaging was utter rubbish as usual. A thin cardboard sleeve for a large and heavy book! Not surprisingly it had burst at one end but the book survived. Amazon are BAD at packaging because they cut costs and incur lots of replacement costs as a result, no class!

Huge, heavy coffee table book with some of the most era-defining photographs from the first golden age of Skateboarding. The images are fascinating to anyone with an interest in skateboarding... but to those of us for whom the sport become a life-long obsession... this is a treasure trove of nostalgia and happy memories.The fine photographs are accompanied by very interesting editorial, that gives more background on the skate spots, skaters and culture than was easily available from the magazines of the time.My favourite skateboarding book ever!

This book is a must-have for us older folks that love skateboarding, and / or are still skating.A way better way to spend your money on this book, rather than forking out big $$ to buy old magazines.That's simply a great book for sure, and I am glad to even have had the chance to meet some of these folks while visiting Cali. in the last decade.Greetings from a skater located in Germany....Roll on!!
