I use it exclusively on the stand and it does a great job of drying my hair while I work the brush or just let the hair do its own thing. I keep the dryer on my desk and let it work while I check email and facebook! Only down side is there are only 2 height adjustments to the nozzle. The dream blow dryer would be if this one had a goose neck attached to the nozzle. The dryer on the stand is very stable. Suction cups on the bottom hold the base steady and the dryer fits in the base securely. My issue with the dryer and why it is 4 instead of 5 stars is that the hottest temperature setting isn't very hot. It is almost equal to the "warm" temperature on my last drugstore (not fancy) hair dryer.
