What is the difference between this one and the $55 one, other than the price?

Good day, actually no difference between both Ravensburger Alien: Fate of The Nostromo Board Game. They are the exact same game. I though the higher priced was maybe a deluxe edition but sadly no. It is a good game but go for the cheaper option.

Our house rules re-wrote the game to make it into an AO game and changed the characters to all female. They don't get killed now.

what size/scale are the figures? are they compatible with 28/32mm scale

Yes, but it doesn't matter you don't use a battle mat for the game, just rooms with no size descriptions. After a couple of plays I re-wrote the game to make it better. I don't think the "designer" was really a game player but just some Marketing type trying to capitalize on the name. Good Luck with it - Mike
