Yes, the size is pretty accurate. I wear a 34 waist size pants and I ordered a medium size. It fitted perfectly.

Are these okay for summer wear?

I wore them a lot during summer (20 to 30 celsius here mostly) and they were fine. They're pretty lightweight but they are of course black so will retain some heat. But I had some great fits with these + a t-shirt and never felt too warm or cold

For the medium size it is 28.5 for the large is 29.5
