When you peel off the adhesive cover, do it very carefully, as you can peel the actual adhesive off with the cover (at least I did). If that happens, just stick it back on and be more careful removing just the covering. Strip is controlled from Smart Life app, which I do wish had more functionality, but that is a different topic. The strip has a substantial clear silicone cover on it. I've never seen a strip like that before but I like it for a couple reasons. Firstly, I would imagine it helps eliminate any theoretical fire risk because it creates a barrier that keeps oxygen out. Second, it makes the strip a bit more rigid so you don't accidentally fold it in half too sharply and damage it.
