Very nice lamp. The instructions tend to skip certain steps and the included parts are generic for other models, so at times you don't know if you missed a step or if it's just an extra piece, but overall it wasn't that hard to put together. I followed another reviewer's suggestion and applied sealant to the wood a few days before putting it together in order to allow it to dry completely. One suggestion I have is to spray paint all the metal parts matte black or brown so that they blend in with the lamp once it's hanging. I noticed that the shinny silver metal parts stood out once it was hanging and being the OCD type that I am, I just couldn't stand it, so I took it apart and painted them. I think this made a big difference. Also, the lamp hangs down about 4' or more, which was too much for my taste, so I cut some of the chain links to make it shorter. I hope this review helps.

We are remodeling our kitchen and turned this little pass through to the family room into a coffee area (waiting for cabinets to arrive, don't judge me!). I added the wall beams to the space and really wanted a funky vibe for the light fixture. I found this on Amazon after searching forever, and loved it. Everyone I showed it to loved it. Reviews scared me, people saying it was hard to put together, but my hubby is handy so we decided to chance it. I am so glad! It was not at all difficult to assemble the instructions are step by step actual photos, not diagrams. Very simple to assemble. The color was redder than our wood so we used the stain from our new beams to make the light match. The wood on the light is not clear coated, so it was easy to throw a coat of stain right over the existing color. It looks amazing in the space, and I am thrilled with this purchase. Also, it arrived 4 days early!!

Wonderful rustic light display.

Purchased this light to replace a dining room light that the lights were pointing to the ceiling which made the amount of light on my table non existent. I was a little scared by the reviews that there would be a million parts but that wasn't the case. My husband put together and had installed in 2.5 hours. He did say the instructions were not good. After installation I am in love. Now the light is going were I need it on the table. I also purchased this one so that I could install a hook to fix an off set socket.

The picture showed a beautiful light. once received it well it was very cheaply made and we returned all 3 fixtures.

Nice. Gotta be real careful assembling it. If you don't you'll strip the one threaded nut. But after assembly it's very nice.

My kitchen is in a gray, black and white decorating scheme! So I purchased this piece for a more marine and beachy look. I filled in all the nail holes, sanded it down and white-washed all the wood. Then I painted all the brass hardware black. I also spray painted the globes white. Then changed out the rope trim around the lanterns to match the wood rope trim. I love the quirkiness of this piece and couldn't be more happier with the finished product! Matches the theme of my house perfectly.

I gave it just three stars although I really do like it it could be a whole lot better. It looks really nice. My only complaints are it’s cheaply made, and you can’t adjust the length of how it hangs. So beware if you have high ceilings because it doesnt give you an option.

Gear is plastic but looks good (steel would be too heavy). Wood looks good, Lanterns look good and yes they are open on bottom for light to shine down. Happy with it, looks just like the picture. Instructions useless so patience required to assemble. Had to put a copper coloured spacer on gear shaft to fill in the play it has to make it look proper. Put in some fancy lightbulbs and took 14 inch off chains for more better look. Overall happy with it.

Facile a installer

Overall it's a nice looking light fixture. It's the only positive and quite important feature of this light fixture. ....And it's why I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 star. What is negative: 1) Absolutely useless instructions on how to assemble it. Took a while to figure it out.... and trust us it's not the only light fixture we assembled in our life. 2) Poor wood quality. They could provide something better. 3) When I look at the assembled product I have hard time to understand how it can cost more than $100 CAN.
