It took minutes to assemble. The steam looks like real smoke. The sounds could have been slightly more realistic, but overall it was the perfect gift. The only issues we had was getting the remote to work as intended. The remote needed to be pointed in the front of the oncoming train to work. A better remote sensor is the one thing that could be improved. However, I would still recommend this product.

It actually has steam coming out. It comes with a little bottle you can use to refill the steam. It’s nice and big. Not tiny. Not all of the signs are shown in the video because I accidentally threw away the stickers for the other signs. But it came with everything shown. Very easy to put together. My three year old son loves it.

Bought this for our Christmas tree this year and I’m not sure we have ever gotten it running properly. The tracks don’t align well and it’s just overall pretty poor quality. Guess you get what you pay for.

Would really be cute under the Christmas tree. Not sure if it would be very durable for children to use, but maybe with supervision. But UNFORTUNATELY doesn't work. After charging the battery on the train - which is inconvenient to do (the battery does charge with a usb, but you have to remove it with the included screwdriver) the train light works and it will smoke. (I was expecting to be able to just connect the usb to the train and have it charge without removing the battery with a screwdriver) The smoke is pretty neat, but the train doesn't move or make sounds. Remote is cheaply made and doesn't work. There is a light on the remote, which I assume means it is working, that doesn't light up. No instructions for the train in the box. The light on the train blinks like it is trying to connect or something, but without knowing what it means (solid light vs slow or fast blinking light) it is hard to know what to troubleshoot. I did try several different (all new) batteries for the remote, all without success. Trying to find out how to troubleshoot before I have to try and pack up to return. Would still like to have it under the tree.

I absolutely love this train. For some years, my partner has wanted to relive her childhood memory of a steam train under the Christmas tree. After going with a Lego City train a couple of years ago (epic fail), I found a very cheap version (£12) which looked the part. But without a remote control, and no possibility to turn off the sound, it was no more than an ornament. This train addresses all those issues. The remote control allows the train to be stopped and started and the sound to be turned on and off. The track assembly is a little fragile, and you will need a nice flat surface, or the track will simply fall apart. Also, the steam is a little hit & miss. At first, it wouldn’t work at all, then one morning, it suddenly worked, and when it does, as you can in my video, it’s quite spectacular. The addition of the track “furniture” is interesting, if completely unnecessary, but it gave me 15 minutes entertainment assembling 2 trees and 8 signs and sticking the stickers on them. I appreciate the addition of a little screwdriver needed to access the battery compartment of the train and the remote control, and a water dropper to add water to make the steam. The only missing component is batteries for the remote. Make sure you have 2 AA batteries on hand. The track diameter, if circular, is a little smaller than most at 84cm which is absolutely perfect for our tree. Many are 104cm which would be too big for us, so delighted to find this ideal-for-us size. I’m sure it will now serve as our under-the-tree train for many years to come. Finally, I think it’s pretty good value for what you get and all the functionality, compared with others I’ve seen, and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Quality is cheap, train falls off the track after 3 rounds. Not as big as shown in picture. Available at other sites at 1/3 price . Regret buying it as for return also i will have to arrange by myself. Not taking home pickup so the return charges is additional cost.
