CRC 5037 White Lithium Grease - 10 Wt Oz.

I used this to grease to lubricate my garage door. (Do a search, there are several really good YT videos on the proper way to lubricate. Hint: you don't spray this stuff on the tracks!) At first, I thought, I'm wasting my time. How much difference can this make? And, to be fair, it took 4 or 5 operations before I REALLY noticed a difference. About a month later, I realized, my garage door is now almost completely silent. Note, this works great on garage doors and other door hinges. It does not work to reduce noise from significant others. In fact, quite the opposite.

I always read reviews but it's difficult to discern why some people write what they do. First off, the straw DOES fit. Just take a pair of needle nose pliers, grasp it near the end, support the push button and snap it in place. Yes, it snaps into the valve. Secondly, it does NOT spay everywhere, it stays in place quite nicely and doesn't drip. I was using silicone spray on my garage door before and this is a major improvement! Door is nice and quiet now. Longevity I can't speak to, but I don't plan to grease again for six months. Make sure you give the springs a thorough coat, mine just started to show some rust and this will prevent that. Big thumbs up!

I now have a new do almost anything multi-purpose spray lube. I bought this to lube my garage door parts, and it did make everything run smoothly and so much quieter. Now I'm looking for all kinds of applications around the house, specifically metal on metal contact. My squeaky desk chair rocking mechanism is almost silent now. Door hinges are quiet and smooth. Door latches, deadbolts, and knobs turn and engage with ease and in silence. It's nice to have something around that is as easy to apply as a spray, yet has the resilience of a grease.

This can is easy to use, especially because of the spray tube, which lets me get to ‘Hard-To-Reach’ Places. It works well, good lubrication, easy to use. Amazon asks me to write the ‘Noise Level’. This is a strange thing to ask about a lubricant. I really do not know what Amazon means, so I have not rated it. Amazon asked me to write ‘Longevity’. Again, I do not understand well what Amazon means. If they mean, how long it last, then I do not know because I have only recently applied it.

I read that the best grease for garage door springs is white lithium, and went on the hunt. Finding this, I quickly clicked and had it in a couple days. It arrived with a little red straw on the side so you could put it in the nozzle and have a finer spray, or you could spray it without the straw. I used the straw to keep it from going all over the wall, and after a couple up and down actions of the door, it is MUCH smoother. I also used it in the bearings of the rollers. I am told you do not want to grease the tracks, but rather just keep them clean (a good use for WD-40 I suppose), so I skipped that. Since purchasing it I have found a couple other good uses for it as well. Should last a good long while, great product.
