Pretty, but sadly also pretty useless
This tin opener is truly beautiful, with lovely iridescent colours. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing to be said for it. It fails the crucial task of opening tin cans reliably and easily. Most of the time, it doesn't engage properly and just spins uselessly. On the tubes when it does engage, it takes a lot of effort to both keep it closed and engaged and to turn the handle – I've never known a can opener require so much force to operate. Even in these cases, though, it almost never remains engaged for the full circumference of the can, and there's usually at least two sections (small but inconvenient) which it doesn't cut through, leading to a messy struggle to get the lid finally off using some other implement. It is very disappointing.

Amazing Can Opener!!!
I love this can opener!!! Its sturdy and works very well! Every can opener we have owed in the past has broken, cheap ones so I decided we would go for something more pricey and it was definitely worth it!! I couldn’t resist the beautiful colours either! It looks stunning and works wonderfully. Thank you!

Nice looking, tough to use...
This thing looks lovely. It matches all.of our other kitchen accessories. However, my girlfriend has small hands and cant quite get the grip to close properly. This means I have to open all the cans, which am not bothered about of course, but it does mean she struggles to open cans that dont have ring pulls when I am not around. Shame.

Looks good
I like the look of this can opener which is the main reason I purchased it. There are easier can openers to use that are more computable, however I wanted something pleasing on the eye. It's opened everything I've used it on this far. It can take a few attempts to get it securely in the can to begin opening it. But I'm ok with that

A PROPER CAN OPENING TOUGHIE
There I was, having just about won a very difficult battle to remove the lid of a steak and kidney pie sold in a can, and thought to myself that it was probably about time for me to get a more substantial can opener. On reading the very first customer review for this particular opener the reviewer was enthusing about how it had opened his own 'Fray Bentos' can so easily. Well, was this a mere coincidence or a message sent to me directly from the Gods? Anyway, I got it and it's good. No can will ever be safe from entry again with one of these around. This is not one of those weak little lightweights that are sold in supermarkets. It's nice and chunky to the grip and you know it means business. Eamonn

waste of money
Utterly dreadful, juddery, need to have major muscles to turn the handle then destroys the can without opening it. Wish I had stuck to Asda’s 50p openers. they may not last more than a few months but they at least open cans easily!

Half Way to a Good Design
I was so excited to get this can opener. I've been converting most of my kitchen to rainbow titanium themed items. This can opener looked sturdier and nicer than the ones on Amazon.com, so I spent the extra money to have it order from Amazon.co.uk and shipped to the United States. > The Good, it's lovely, and is almost entirely rainbow titanium oxide coating. > The Bad,... 1. Difficult to Turn - the handle is too small and therefore difficult to turn, it is almost half the size of most other handles. Simply doubling the length of the handle would allow much easier turning. 2. Apparently, can only be used in one direction. So when you get one of those finicky cans that require backing up and going over a second time to cut, the handle will loosen. Could barely open cans using the top method, it did manage okay side cutting. 3. Ping...after about the 20th can, it popped apart. Not what I was expecting in the least. > The Ugly, why have a cheap small black plastic handle. When you could have had a nice durable matching rainbow titanium-oxide coated metal handle? I so much wanted a good, solid, durable, beautiful, all rainbow titanium oxide can opener. I thought I had come close. Apparently, I was mistaken, which after spending $40 to purchase this item is quite a disappointment. Hopefully the folks at Taylor store will take this feedback and put it to use. Provide a better handle, and increase the durability of the screw/gear area so that a $30-$40 can opener is a lifetime purchase rather then ending its life before its managed to open even two dozen cans.
