ChromaCast Pro Series Rudy Sarzo Signature Electric Bass Guitar Padded Gig Bag

This review is for the ChromaCast Pro Series Rudy Sarzo Signature Electric Bass Guitar Padded Gig Bag First off.... I LOVE THIS BAG!! I have 7 different bass cases and this is one of my favorite cases. The good: It is a quality built bag. It definitely deserves the "pro" designation. The shell material is sturdy and looks nice. The padding is adequate (more about that in a minute) and I feel comfortable with the level of protection it offers any of my basses. The pockets! OMgosh, those pockets! Please sir, can I have more? 6 really well thought out pockets! When I say thought out, I mean they have room to stretch and are plenty deep. The large one can hold a full size iPad. Probably could hold a lap top but I wouldn't risk my laptop out front like that. I'm old school, so I carry my charts in a 2" notebook. It fits with room to spare. I have actually put a pair of folded up jeans in the big pocket! The other pockets have plenty of room for most anything you would need to carry. Extra sets of strings? No problem. iPad mini or other smallish tablet? No problem! Multiple guitar tuners ala Snark? No problem! Need to take a change of clothes, extra shirts? No problem, no I'm not joking! The inside has an adjustable neck rest with a velcro strap to keep your bass from tipping out. Want more? OK, how about a piece of material sown on the inside to keep your bridge from getting scratched or the bag from getting torn? Well, it's there! A little extra padding for the bottom of the bout so that the strap pin doesn't tear the bag or get dinged? Yes, they got that covered too! Rubber feet so that you can stand your case and lean it? Done! How about some of the same rubber feet material around the TOP and sides of the bag, so that when you lean it against a wall or prop it on the floor it has some grip? Would you like that? Bingo! It's there! A 2 piece handle that secures with a velcro wrap to help keep the bass from sliding out? Check! A rubberized handle on the back? Yep, got that too! Adjustable straps so you can sling it on your back? Of course! That long pocket over the fretboard will hold a lot of stuff. They say you can put a guitar stand in it, I wouldn't want anything like that near my fret board but I guess you could do it. What's not to love? I was thinking of getting a Mono bag, but they just don't have everything this bag has to offer. Yes, I know, Mono is Mono for a reason. But the Mono costs 3 times as much and lacks all the pockets. I looked at other bags too. In the end, this one checked off 99% of the boxes on my list. Ok, the padding! You want extra padding? On the inside of the bag, there are zippers that reveal the padding. You can add your own extra padding. It's also a nice option to have to put your wallet or phone in. Not completely safe, but it adds a small additional layer of protection for your personal items. There are only 2 things I don't like and both are a personal preference. One, I'm not a fan of the red lettering advertising the bag. The other is that you have to slide the guitar in and out of the bag. On several occasions, it has gotten caught on the piece that protects the bridge, or it hasn't reached the bottom of the bag. So you do need to make sure your bass is settled correctly in the bag. That's a very small price to pay for such a great bag. This doesn't take away one bit for how much I love this bag!! You're NOT going to find a bag for under $100 that even comes close to this. Right now, this bag is roughly $90. You can't go wrong! Buy one, heck, buy 2! The bad: NOTHING! Suggested improvement: If they did this, I'd buy it in a heartbeat! Make it so that the bag can lay flat on the ground and the top cover flip open like a hard case! (think Gator Transit and Roadrunner Highway Series (yes, I have a RR Hwy series case) Both are gig bags that flip open. Both cost a little more. The Transit is close in price, the RR is about $40 more. But like I said, the Chromacast is under $100!!!! You just can't beat it! Chromacast...PLEASE make a bag like this with the flip open option!! Thanks for making a quality bag at a reasonable price point! Not everyone can drop $150+ for a gig bag. We need you!

Just received this yesterday and wow! POCKETS! I have my: * Wireless * Speakon cable * Guitar cord * Wall Warts * Boss TU2 Tuner * Spare set of strings * Power plug for amp * Strap * Clip on tuner and assorted patch cables and various necessities Space to spare pocket-wise, excellent and the main reason I purchased. My only "complaint" was that it did arrive folded in half, not a deal-breaker, but would have preferred it not have the now permanent bend. That being said, I love the case and would give it my highest recommendation for a soft gig bag/case. 5/21/18: Well, OK.. The inside protective square that's designed to prevent bridge hardware from damaging the case: compleatly tore off due to catching the edge of my Musicman's bridge. This is sort of a bummer, because as a soft case with the aforementioned pockets to spare.... Its begun to fall apart, sort of... Wasn't expecting that

Incredible value and quality. I Love It. This bag has an amazing 8 storage places. It is extremely light but very sturdy and well made. Great zippers and padding. It's crazy that I am actually just as excited about a gig bag as I would be for a new bass. And as you see, the price is great. Everything you would need to bring to a Gig, including many Micro Heads would fit in it.

For the money it's a great bag. Well cushioned and a lot of pockets. My main negative, and it's a small one, is the way it was made feels like the neck part wants to twist. But, it zips fine. I would definitely buy again..

Great gig bag but it was shipped folded in half in a plastic bag and that bag took a beating during shipping. (Bag was received torn on delivery ) Now the gig bag has a permanent bend and flops over when I'm trying to load my bass in it. Other than that, it has plenty of pockets. Zippers and handles are sturdy. Can't beat it for price.

Seems well made, time will tell. Lots of zippers, good value.

I have two oversized bass guitar’s it’s been very difficult to say the least to find one that fits them. I own a Gene Simmons Axe Bass and a Punisher Bass the cases to fit these are very expensive, however this one is not and it fits them perfectly with room to spare. Plenty of pockets to put accessories such as guitar picks cords and even a small preamp all in one bag from one small decent price. You will not be disappointed with this.

Love my gig bag. Very durable and enjoy all the storing pockets. Arrived in a timely manner and well packaged. So happy with the quality I ordered one for my bass teacher. He loves it.

Great gig bag, purchased specifically for a semi hollow body Warwick bass, fits with ease, also can get my amp in the large pocket.

I was at my local guitar store when I spotted a used Epiphone Classic-IV Pro Thunderbird bass at a great price! I plugged it in fell in love and took it home. The clerk did his due diligence and offered me a Thunderbird Hard Case but I am not a fan of hard cases and since I always have at least one more quality gig bag than I need I politely refused and took my new toy home. Well, none of my gig bags would fit. I have four different gig bags from different companies and nothing fit. I briefly considered the hard case and slapped myself upside the head. I scoured he bass guitar forums and got one solid suggestion, a Gator Pro Go Bass case. I liked the look and he level of protection it provides but I pretty much spend all my free cash on the Thunderbird. I scoured YouTube for a video featuring a Thunderbird bass and a gig bag when I stumbled across the video for this gig bag. I thought to myself, the Thunderbird is perfect for hard rock and Rudy Sarzo lives and breathes hard rock so I watched the video. To my surprise, the video actually shows Mr. Sarzo putting a Thunderbird bass in the bag! I went to Amazon, ordered on to arrive next day.(A cheap shipping upgrade from Prime’s Two Day shipping) The case arrives promptly the next day. I unboxed it, took it out of the plastic bag it’s in and immediately I am pleasantly surprised. The bag was sturdier and the padding looks better than the gig bag Rudy Sarzo was demoing in his video. It lead me to believe he was showing the actual bag he uses. I checked all the zippers, pockets and stitching and everything was top quality. The bag came folded, which I expected, but once I put my Thunderbird in, the case bounced back to life. Oh, and most importantly, this case fits my Thunderbird like a glove! This case doesn’t provide as much protection as my most expensive gig bags, both costing me about $200, but provides enough protection that I can travel safely with my baby and know it will survive the trip. The one place this bag shines above the many bags I have tried is in the amount of storage it has. This bag has more storage than I could have thought possible! Easily one of the best features of this particular gig bag. Overall, I could not be more pleased with this purchase. I expected I was buying a “Well it will do for now” bag but I can see this bag sticking around for the long haul! This was my first ChromaCast purchase but it will not be my last! I would love to see what they could create in the top end gig bag space currently occupied by Mono and Reuinion Blues!

I was somewhat surprised at the excellent quality considering the price

I've had this bag for a few months now. The main selling point is the numerous pockets and the 20mm padding. I feel like this is a very good bag in this price range. I have no doubt that it will eventually wear out, but so far it is holding up well. But if you don't need all those pockets, there are a lot of other options out there that are probably just as good.
