I installed this in my HP Envy laptop as a RAM upgrade, and the difference was immediate. Before the upgrade, the system would slow down with multiple applications open. Just easy peay to install. However I got the BSOD with an error message. It seems the Alienware doesn’t like memory faster than 2667mz. It’s 3200. I took out the 8g 2400 and put the 16g in its place. No go. So I put the 8g back in dimm1 and put the 16g in dimm2 and it worked. But because I’m combing 2400 with 3200 it dumbs down to 2400. Oh well now I have 24g at 2400 instead of 16g at 3200. But should have gotten dual core to start working.

Added to my older laptop that had an open RAM slot. Made sure all the specs line up and it was compatible. It works like a charm and is much better than paying twice as much for a matching pair. The first boot up after install gives you a black screen for about 30-60 seconds while things get familiar, then its good to go. If you've never installed ram before or fiddled with your PC internals, watch tutorials so that you don't mess up your computer.

So this ram was used for a friend's laptop upgrade & for the most part worked great beyond the fact that the 1 pair i was sent had a damaged ram stick in it that failed to detect, after a replacement though it all worked great though so 4 stars
