The Secret Life of the American Teenager: Season 1

This is a great series. It is very realistic, for one thing. But one thing which it includes that I am really impressed with is the importance of family values, and family itself. During this young teen's pregnancy, she bands together with her friends and family to get through it. There are a lot of tuff decisions which have to be made, and her friends and family help her with this. There are certain people in her life that are very supportive, and some that aren't (but that's the way it always goes in real life).It is a riveting first season, since there is always some kind of drama or cliffhanger going on between the characters. The main family gets close to falling apart, but tries to stay together, and it's really hard to determine which way it will go. This keeps you interested and eager to find out what happens.I recommend this to anyone. It's also good for this day and age, since it sharply illustrates the consequences of young teen pregnancy on a young woman's life. Good morals are in here as well, which is also another refreshing thing to find in a modern show today.

This show is one of the best shows of all time in my opinion. Not only is it educational, it has a mixed variety of emotions as you get up close with the characters. This show has it all. Drama, Heartbreak, Comedy, Sadness, Adultery, Betrayal, Teenage Pregnancy etc. This easily can be passed as a 90's show. You remember how good shows were back in the 80s and 90s and you didn't have to look hard to find a show back then? Well Secret Life of The American Teenager is one of those shows you wish extended to 5 more season. Starring Shailene Woodley (Very Beautiful), India Eisley (Very Beautiful), Molly Ringwald (Best redhead ever and 80s hot mama), Francia Raisa (Mami Chula), Renee Olstead (Pretty Redhead), Camille Winbush (Chocolate Princess), Allen Evangelista (That cool Pinoy Dude), Amy Rider (Funny Japanese Girl), Megan Park (Canadian Hot girl), Daren Kagasoff (The Fonz Jr), Kenny Baumann (Sausage King's son), and Greg Finley 7 foot football player). Brenda Hampton creator of 7th Heaven another show I love, really wrote this story and put a lot of effort to make this show discussing teen pregnancy, how teenager's mind's go all over the place when it comes to sex, cheating, and pregnancy. Season's 1-2-3-4 were really really good. Season 5 not so much because of how the show ended. I wish they would reboot this series as a college years show but they probably won't. Highly recommended.

My teenager loves this show, and I have fun watching it with him. While I've discussed pregnancy and all that good stuff with him a long time ago, it still opens more dialogue. It's also entertaining,and has some realism to it - but, really, how many pregnant teens have two guys fighting over them? It would have been more realistic if she was on her own, and would probably dissuade teens from the dream of having babies because they're cute and all if she had to do it herself. I guess that doesn't make for as much drama though.I like how the show touches on all potential ways of dealing with an unexpected pregnancy. I also like that she choses to keep her baby - too often media makes adoption look so wonderful instead of portraying it as it really is for the birthmother.The teen actors are pretty good for the most part. Again, a little overly dramatized, even for teenagers, but that aside it is cute.

I would have never guessed that I would have gotten hooked on this series. It takes you back to your high school drama years. A 15 year old gets pregnant the first time she has sex and the show does not hold back. It really shows what being a teenage mother is like. The fears, feeling trapped, staying home while your friends are going to the prom, ballgames, dating, etc. Her parents have made it loud and clear that they are not raising this baby for her. It is sad. Molly Ringwald plays her Mom but I think her acting is terrible. She was much better during her teenage years but the other actors make up for her poor acting. The sister who isn't pregnant is the best reason to watch this series. Her personality reminds me of the youngest sister on the Roseanne series if you ever watched it. So go ahead and get hooked with the rest of us. There are a lot of good special features on the DVDs.

I started watching this series when it came out in the Summer of 2008, and I've been glued ever since. Although I am 30, it has managed to capture my attention.The series focuses on a fifteen year old girl, facing an unexpected pregnancy. All of the actors and actresses that were casted fit their roles to a "T". Some of the episodes actually brought tears to my eyes--the show is realistic, and the things they address are what a lot (of our younger generations) go through. It's a great series, and it is definitely worth purchasing!!!

A another great series from the creator of 7th Heaven. The show is meant to get people talk and it does just that. Emotional gripping scenes with the right touch of comedy. A little more rough than 7th Heaven, definitely a more teen oriented series. Well worth the money!

i liked this show and could totally relate being a teen mom myself but they just dragged it on a bit to long.

Part one of season one. I love this show. The acting is kind of awful but in a good way. Teenage soap opera basically but it deals with a lot of real life stuff in kind of an embellished but not too much way. Some of the characters are very stereotyped in a hilarious and awesome way. I don't regret this purchase.

Very happy with this DVD set

J'apprécie énormément cette série le colis est bien arrivé et il est en très bon état, mais il n'y a pas les 24 épisodes de la saison 1, j'aimerais savoir comment cela se fait, et par quel moyen je pourrais obtenir la suite de la saison, merci beaucoup !

J'ai eu peur au début la série étais supposer arriver 12 juillet mais c'est arriver fin juin en même temps que 4 autres que j'ai commander j'ai été heureuse :D
