This review is for the drink "Lyre's pink London non-alcoholic spirit". CONTENTS 700 ml COLOUR/ DESIGN / QUALITY ** this non-alcoholic drink comes in a very distinctive bottle which compares very well with similar alcoholic spirits. ** it has a gorgeous transparent pink colour to it and the scent of rose was very noticeable to me when I smelt it. IMPORTANT/WORTH NOTING ** after opening this drink needs to be kept in the refrigerator and consumed within 12 weeks. I LIKE ** the slight quinine aftertaste which I assume is from the juniper berries. This gives you the impression you're drinking something alcoholic. ** I certainly notice a rose flavour as well which is one of my favourites. ** this drink is semi sweet and is a good alternative to pink Gin. ** I have found this drink delicious when mixed with something like lemonade, sparkling water or soda. Adding ice and a slice of lemon makes it extra special. I DISLIKE ** nothing to dislike PRICE The price of £23.50 (price correct at the time of this review) is a fairly decent price. Non alcoholic beers, wines and spirits have grown in popularity in recent years and while I'd tried a few different beers my experience with the spirits was very limited. I checked this non alcoholic gin out against an alcoholic product from a leading brand. The first thing that I noticed is that the flavour of the non alcoholic version just isn't as strong as it's alcoholic counterpart. There are similar notes, though the non alcoholic version tastes more watery. There is a hint of botanicals but this version is also sweeter so these are even more difficult to pick out. Overall then it makes for a pleasant drink but one that I wouldn't necessarily compare to gin.

Great taste just like the real thing

Ok so we know it’s a non-alcoholic gin but come on this is a pretty damn good replacement. This is a large bottle, 700ml, so enough to pour into a non-alcoholic punch and give it the ‘lift’ it needs. It’s got that gin background taste without that burn sensation of alcohol going down after it’s been drunk. Probably the main difference (other than no alcohol content!!) is the shelf life of this bottle. Once opened it needs to be kept in the fridge - personally I prefer it cold - and needs to be drank within 12 weeks of opening. This is a fantastic UK produced bottle of (zero alcohol) gin. Perfect for guests who want to party but need to drive home at the end of an evening.

This stuff is great for making a particular mocktail I created: One jigger Lyre's Pink London Spirit, two jiggers Cock 'N Bull Ginger Beer, one half jigger Rose's Lime Juice, one half jigger Lars Elderflower Drink Concentrate, and one squeeze of fresh lime. DELICIOUSLY REFRESHING! The taste of the Lyre's is the perfect base for this, blending with the other ingredients while maintaining its own delicate flavor. I hope you try it!
