No, my ears do not get hot while wearing these.

Where can I find the plastic piece that holds the wire between the head strap and ear muffs. Mine broke.

As far as I know you may be able to replace the ear muff parts but that is it. I realize it may not be the answer you are looking for but you may need to get a new pair.
