Timberland Mens Earthkeepers City Lite Chukka

It has been a solid 6 months since I bought these shoes and I would say these are one of the best shoes I have ever bought. SIZE: WARNING, these shoes run big, extremely big. I normally wear a size 10 1/2 to 11 in every other brand but these shoes came out to be way too large at 10. A solid 2 inches from my toes to the point of the shoe. Despite this, I am still able to wear these shoes, and walk in them normally without them falling off. Another warning, despite being too large, they were too long, not too Wide, I ordered the M shoes, and fit fine on the sides. I normally order regular width with any other pair of shoes. COMFORT: These shoes are extremely comfortable, I tend to buy an extra gel pad for shoes, regardless of brand because it just makes the shoe so much more comfortable, but in this case i found that it wasn't needed. These shoes are very comfortable, I have walked in these shoes for hours and my feet don't begin to hurt. Standing around in them is very comfortable and they also provide some arc support, but not noticeably. LOOK: They are not a very shiny shoe but they do look very good. I tend to wear a lot of leather shoes, normally all black and i can say for a boot like shoe, these Chukkas look great. They look like pretty casual shoes, that I can wear to work, class, or go out with as long as it isn't too formal. I have received many compliments for the shoes, but I would have to say, they are bit formal. They aren't shoes you should be wearing in shorts or something along those lines. FUNCTION: These are my dedicated shoes for the winter. I currently live in Wisconsin, so it gets pretty cold up here. These shoes are pretty warm despite how thin they seem, as long as I'm wearing thick socks My feet tend to do fine in below freezing temperatures. As for the snow, these shoes are waterproof like advertised. I can walk right through a few inches of snow with no problem. Although it's worth mentioning that if the snow is too tall it will obviously come in over the top and wet the inside of the shoe. As for the bottom of the shoe, the sole seems to be holding up despite my constant walking ( I walk A LOT) through snow and on pavement. The non-Slip is one of the AMAZING things about these chukkas. I have literally seen other people slip on ice in front of me as I walked right over it and seemed to have perfect grip on the ice. These shoes have great grip and non-slip features, I have yet to fall on ice and this is my first time walking through it in a long time. SUMMARY: These shoes are pretty great. They look good for almost every situation, super comfortable, really functional, and are long lasting. Only a few cons to this shoe, They run very BIG so i would suggest ordering a FULL size smaller. Another con would be how the tip of the shoe can get scratches, about a month a go I had tripped and fallen with these shoes and the tips had gotten scratched, it look like scratches leather, but from a far it isn't noticeable. I'm not complaining much because i believe any shoe would have gotten scratched worse or even broken due to that. I SERIOUSLY recommend buying these shoes for casually wearing in the winter. well done timberland.

I've purchased both the black and brown version of this boot. In fact, I just bought the black version again, something I NEVER do. I bought the first pair in early November of 2015 (for a bit less than I paid this time). That is less than 2 years, which might not seem like much time for a pair of shoes to need to be replaced, but I would say I have worn these black boots about 75% of the time, even through summer. I'm certainly not going to throw the old ones out, but they've gotten to the point where it's time for a refresh. The waterproofing still works great, and they'll be fine for the messier winter days ahead. I don't wear the brown much, but I'd expect them to wear the same. The brown version is almost a suede, and seems to scratch fairly easily, but most light ones rub/buff out. Both colors required no break-in, and were very comfortable from the start. As others have mentioned, the black is more of a matte finish, and the toe is just a bit long. However, I should mention that the 11(M) fits very true to size (the foot fits fine in the shoe, and you easily adapt to the extra room). Both colors blur the line between casual and dress ....I wouldn't wear either with a suit, but would with a nice sweater and pants ...I also wear them with a t-shirt and jeans. I own a couple pairs of Allen Edmonds and Danner shoes/boots that can have the soles replaced, and are worth the investment to have them refurbished. Then, I have several other pairs that fall into the "throwaway" category. Because of the way they're built, these chukkas fall into the latter. That said, I feel I definitely got my money's worth.

I'm on my third pair of these boots. I wear them everyday and I figured maybe I should write a review for anyone contemplating buying some. First of all, I love how these boots look. They're very versatile because they straddle a formal and informal style. I can wear them out or to work, and I really appreciate that. I've gotten quite a few compliments on them over the years. I also appreciate that they're pretty lightweight and only have two lace-holes, so they slip on and off quite easily. For a boot and in an everyday shoe the ease of slipping them on and off is really nice. Second, they are waterproof, although not permanently and by no means completely. In downpours my feet do get wet, but for mild showers, sprinkles and puddles they do the trick. Again, points for versatility. Expect the waterproofing to come off over time though; I'd recommend applying a leather conditioner to re-proof them after a few months, depending on usage. I use a clean wet rag and then Otter Wax Leather Salve, which maintains their water repellency and the color of the leather. Third, these are city boots, not hiking boots. I'd wear them around town and to work or school. I've worn them hiking many times, but you'd be better off getting a real pair of hiking boots (Merrells or something) if you're planning on going outdoors often or backpacking. Fourth, unfortunately, they will not last forever. Each pair of mine last about a year before I wear a hole through the sole at the ball of my feet. I'd appreciate greater durability in the sole--but for shoes I wear everyday (and I walk quite a lot) I'm not sure I can expect much more of the rubber. It doesn't take long for the traction to go as the sole is worn down as well. I've had my current pair for about a year and the stitching is beginning to come undone. Also, the leather of the shoe of your dominant foot will wrinkle and show more wear than the other. In my first pair I thought this was a manufacturing defect, and I wish it weren't the case, but I guess it's inevitable. Fifth, yes, they run large, like all Timberlands. I wear an 8.5 in these boots, even though my normal shoe size is 10 in sneakers. Go figure. Use the European sizing instead; it's more consistent across brands. I think Timberland discontinued this style in their stores a year or two ago, which is a shame, so I don't know for much longer they'll be available online--but I've put mine on every day for the last three years and I'll keep wearing them as long as they're around.

I'm still torn about these shoes. I went a full size smaller than normal based on reviews here and they are still too long. I bought mine in 2W and the width is just about perfect. I think if I went down another half or full size they would start becoming too tight. I bought some heel inserts and may try other inserts to fill up some space as well. I do like the look of them and construction seems solid. The soles are comfortable and my plantar fasciitis actually is better with these shoes. Hoping I can make them fit right.

I've had these boots for about a month now, and they are performing superbly. I needed something that provides good support, as I have several bulging discs in my back. After trying 3 different pairs of shoes, I am pleased with fit, look and support of these boots. I recently wore them to a 5 day trip in Boston where I walked EVERYWHERE. I probably put 20+ miles on these in less than a week, and they are great. They are totally waterproof, and the leather is easily buffed if you scuff it. Love these boots. 1.5 month update, still awesome. :) 7 MONTH UPDATE: These boots are still awesome! The leather is wearing nicely where the cuffs of my pants rub against it, and the boots are still as comfortable and sturdy as ever. They are nice enough to wear with khakis and a crisp dress shirt, but versatile enough that I pair them with torn jeans to work on cars. Seriously. Buy these if you want to own one pair of shoes and look good in all settings.

I am a size 12 (Nike) I was plagued by comments other made buy 1 size down etc. I bought 1/2 size down and a medium and it fits a bit tight on my left foot, while the right one I have the feeling of pressure. Anyways buy an extra size wide or buy the size shoe you normally wear. 11.5 M would have been fine for me but my right foot is slightly wider. The dark brown came in a great color except for a dark spot but looks entirely fine. The inner sole feels great except for the pressure on the side of my feet where they are the widest Honestly if I would have bought 1 size down then I would have returned them but I will break these 11.5 in. They look great they are a bit long but not as wide. Buy them in the size you wear, I guess everyone else had tiny feet

This is my first day wearing them, but so far, they seem suitable for my purposes. I bought these specifically for an upcoming trip I have to New York, England and Iceland. I figured I am likely to run into some wet weather, and plan on doing a bit of light hiking, so I wanted something rugged enough for that, but that I could also wear with nicer slacks in the city. From a style perspective, these seem to fill the bill -- I plan on updating my post in June to reiterate how they performed. At any rate, I agree with many that the fit is a bit odd. they are rather wider around the heel than the toe area, but I anticipate the toes will loosen up a bit with wear. The leather is of good quality, and considerably darker brown than the image (a good thing, IMO). I also agree that the innersoles are rather inadequate -- I immediately replaced the innersoles with ones I grabbed out of an old pair of Brooks The Beast running shoes and this improved the fit greatly. This morning, I walked 2000 paces in them indoors at my workplace on hard floors, and they were quite comfortable -- no hot spots or potential blisters. I will say that these, perhaps due to their waterproof nature, are rather warm on the feet. I tend to think these are going to be more useful during the fall, spring, and winter than the summer. UPDATE: After a full year of wearing these, they have gotten more and more comfortable. I've put back the original innersoles, and they have just gotten more and more comfortable with time. I still wish that they had another eyelet or two - I generally have to tighten the laces once or twice a day or they end up getting a bit loose on my feet. Again -- these are good shoes for casual wear, but are not really meant to be hiking boots. As long as you're not asking them to do something they aren't meant to, they work pretty well. Also, while the sole has worn down a bit over the past year, they still grip and are not at all slippery, and the roughout leather is excellent at not showing wear.

First, the actual quality of the boots is very good and they look very nice. I hate to give these a one star review, but keep reading and you'll understand. When I first looked at these, I saw the comments about the boots being larger than sized. I was skeptical, and thought I would order my normal size (10.5) knowing that they might be a little big. All I can say is, THE BOOTS ARE NOWHERE NEAR THEIR SIZE! Please see the picture I added to this review that shows the difference in a legit 10.5 (my bare foot) and the Timberland 10.5 which is much closer to a 12.5-13. My main problem with this transaction has to do with returns and pricing. Once I received my initial order, it was obvious that I needed return the boots for a smaller size. I paid $54 for the 10.5s. When I returned the boots and went to re-order a smaller size, a 10 was $94 and a 9.5 was $86! At almost any other shoe store (online or brick and mortar) exchanging for a smaller size does not mean paying a 90% increase in price. Based on the size difference and the ridiculous price increase to exchange the boots, this transaction definitely was one of my worst experiences with Amazon!

J'ai ces chaussures depuis 4 ans à présent. Elles ont encore bonne allure. C'est "vrai que ces chaussures ont une taille "américaine" (Je chausse du 41 et demie avec eux et du 43 1/3 chez Salomon par exemple. J'avais initialement commandé du 41 et on me les a échangé tout de suite, sans problème. Ces chaussures me vont toujours, je vais en racheter une paire chez eux après une quadruple fracture du pied cet été. Pour la petite histoire, ma podologue les considère également comme "une très bonne marque". Je vous la conseille.

La verdad me gustaron mucho estas botas. Han sido de las mejores compras que he hecho en amazon. Yo esperaba algo un poco más ajustado, pero están muy padres. Son versátiles para un día casual o para alguna ocasión más formal. Muy cómodas y son resistentes al agua (y vaya que ya las usé en una tormenta). No dudes en comprarlas :D

Es sind meine ersten Timberlands und ich war gleich angetan von ihrem Erscheinungsbild. Das Material macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck und der Tragekomfort ist klasse. Für mich sind es recht zeitlose, schicke Stadtschuhe mit Qualitäten den nassen Winter zu meistern. Wie gut sie sich jedoch im Dauertest schlagen werden, wird die Zeit zeigen.
