Perfect !!!! works like a charm
This gas gauge works perfect as it should....I see other people wrote bad reviews. Honestly, i've had a bad experience with it.... I own a my own tank and i have a tank exchange tank. Well, my own tank it works perfectly. But sometimes when i use a tank-exchange tank... it won't seal right and gas leaks... but its not the valve... its the tank exchange tanks. They're highly abused and continuously circulated. This gas gauge is perfect... it doens't show a good reading when the temp outside is 40-F or 7/8-C but fire up the grill and let the tank get some heat, then your gauge will be acurrate.. but at cold/freezing temps, no gas gauge will work well unless insualted to ambient gas temps of proper readings at 75-F ...

Great Device! (when you follow instructions)
<rant>The other day I saw a plastic bag labeled, "THIS IS NOT A TOY"... and I wondered to myself who would need to receive that little pearl of wisdom. Then... I read some of the negative reviews for this product...Let's start here: If you are unwilling and/or unable to read the instructions (written in English by someone who understands English), then do not by this product. If you think this is going to attach to your tank and miraculously tell you the level of propane under any and all use cases, you will not be pleased. If, however, you do read the instructions, the key section is the following:"REMEMBER: Allow propane to flow for at least 5 minutes before checking the gas level on the gauge. It is best to read propane level just before finishing the use of gas appliance and determine whether to refill the tank before next use."Prior to the above `reminder', the instructions clearly note, "... gauge provides reading while propane is flowing..."WHILE PROPANE IS FLOWING</rant>Actual Review:As usual, using Amazon Prime, my gauge arrived two days later for free. The gauge installs just as easily as your appliance supply line connects to the tank. The assembly swivels and pivots in all directions, so you should be able to adjust the display so it's easy for you to read in your installation. (Something I note under the category of `thoughtful touch', the needle on the display is made of `glow-in-the-dark' materials. While my patio is relatively well lit with torches, it's nice to know that I won't need a flashlight to check the reading after dark.)Once you are hooked up, the leak check is a breeze. While I learned the hard way a few weeks ago that my system is tight (I turned the burners off, but not the tank... and didn't loose and fuel), over time it will be nice to know I have an easy way to be certain that I'm leak free.In the past, I've kept a 2nd tank on hand in case I drained one in mid-cook... it's nice to know that I now have a way of knowing that the time to change out the tank is drawing near. The instructions clearly state, "'when ... gauge shows REFILL, you have only 20 minutes of propane left in the tank.Bottom line: Portable propane tanks are a bear to track, no matter whether you are using a gauge or scale. Be proactive: Always have a spare, and use a gauge so you'll know the time to change tanks is coming!

Works better than expected
Before I buy this I did a research on how accurate can a propane level indicator could be on measuring the level of gas in the tank. What I read was that "..It is inaccurate because as long as liquid gas is in there it will only read the pressure above the liquid not the amount of the gas remaining and because that pressure is always constant, therefore the indicator is steadily should show one number until the end..". This product showed otherwise. It always shows the amount of pressure correctly. From high up there until it comes down to zero slowly. I love it. I think our "scientist" was hallucinating!

Great service, Great product.
I have seen this gauge on one of the TV shopping channels for years with many testimonials of it being a great product. Recently, I saw a friend of mine who had the need for this. I went to the shopping channel web site and they were out of stock, seasonal product. So off to Amazon to see if they carried it and they did. I was thrilled to get this for my friend who uses propane year round and she loves it because now they have a warning when the propane is low and will never run out again. Great product!

Glad I talked to a pro
I ordered this product thinking that it would help to monitor the amount of fuel left in the propane tank. I had to wait for stove manufacturer to give me regulator specifications. Once that was determined I contacted; [...] to check on the correct regulator. Knowlageable people. Told me that it does not work like a gas guage on your car. The way that propane tanks run out of gas is a very short period of time and the chances of your looking at the guage during run-out were slim to none. Told me it is used to detect gas leaks because then the pressure drop would show. Returned product. Amazon lived-up to refund policy and refund was received as soon as shipper got returned product. Glad I found someone who knew what they were talking about and were willing to help others at no charge. No regulators on Amazon site give much idea of pressure regulation, nor the correct hookup fitting to use--red, black, green. Also salesman stated that high-pressure, adjustable regulators will still allow too much gas flow to on low pressure appliances. Buyer beware.

use these a lot!
I use these a lot in the summer. Have them on outdoor grill & also on my skeetervac machines to kill mosquitos. All have no way to tell propane level in tanks. Not good when grilling outside & not sure if there is enough fuel to get food done. Works well with mosquito machines as a regular tank lasts about 3 weeks & this makes it easier to judge when tanks need changed. I use 3 of these gauges every year for the past 2 or 3 years. No problems so far with any.
