This was soooo funny to receive as a gift so we decided to get another one as part of a wedding gift. Besides the humorous title and chapter names, it’s a simple chicken recipe cookbook.

The book was great, the contents are super funny but there's a rip in the cover.

If you want to learn to cook with whole unprocessed foods this is a very good cookbook. The title tends to make you think it is just a novelty book, something to buy as a joke. But the recipes are simple and (mostly) easy. I was a bit put off when the first recipe called for homemade stock, and "the basics" are the last section. It would have been better if she had started with the basics and the stock recipe, because they are quite simple. And the rest of the book uses them. There are a lot of soup recipes and recipes that call for that homemade stock. I had intended to use regular chicken for these recipes but they are so easy I have decided to try to find a local organic farm that will keep me supplied in cocks. She even includes a recipe for Jamaican Cock soup. I had searched the internet for an authentic Jamaican Cock soup recipe, but they all start with "buy a packet of cock soup mix". Some people have complained about her health advice being bad. Well, she knows her views are controversial. I didn't take her health ideas any more seriously than any other advice that food can cure diseases. But it pretty much comes down to "eat whole foods, avoid processed foods". I really enjoyed the stories about her family, and her conversational tone. I think I will get more use out of this cookbook than I was expecting. I don't generally read cookbooks from front to back. But this one ws so short and easy to read that I read it in less than an hour. It is only 50 recipes after all.

I gave this to my future daughter-in-law at her Bridal party. We are all in the medical field so we tend to have a bit of a warped sense of humor. Also being Jewish we eat our share of chicken. We wanted this bridal shower to be a party. The brides family was having a 'traditional' shower but this was for the moms & all the brides friends so it was to be a PARTY. The bride did still get some beautiful gifts, that were very unique & different, but the goal was to see which gift was the wildest. Well This one WON. The really funny part is that it actually had some good recipes in it as well. It was a hit & I didnt even have to recommend it to anyone. The girls already saw the results.

I bought this as a novelty gift and it was a huge hit. Everyone laughed at the title, but it turns out it’s also packed with genuinely useful chicken recipes. A fun conversation starter and a surprisingly practical cookbook.

My mother in law LOVED this book. She has a great sense of humor and hates chickens so it was well received. The names of each recipe are as "off sided" at the book title. She laughed so hard and long... nice to see.
