Is there a way to vent this stove to use inside and RV?

Absolutely not. Do that if you want to die and there is no hood vent that is made to handle that amount of heat.

what is the cooking area diameter?

This is sturdy enough and big enough support to hold my 20 inch cast iron pan. But I wouldn't do that because that pan requires way more spread out heating than this provides. It also can support small pots like a sauce pot, but the heat escape around the edges of such a small pot will make the sauce-pot handle quite hot. I would say it is ideal for a 8 to 12 inch diameter pan or pot. I cannot emphasize enough how sturdy this is and that it will absolutely support even a 30 gallon stock pot if that is what you have for cooking with. The flame column is about 4 inches wide, but it is designed so that the flames or heat can easily flare out so it will heat pots much larger than that across their entire base (maybe a bit unevenly, but still providing heat nonetheless).
