Will buy again great hard drive
Had this hard drive now over a year as a mobile Xbox One hard drive. This thing works well is still fast enough you can’t tell it’s not a internal hard drive. Not a single issue in over a year of being used every single day. Would buy again twice and I will buy again.

Bump up that old laptop!
Make that old Mac get up and dance! These drives have a 5-year warranty, are almost 5X faster than the stock Apple HD. Great alternative to an SSD for people on a budget, but who want a performance bump.

Great compromise between HDD and SSD
My wife's 2014 MacMini had the original 5400RPM HDD. After much debating on SSD vs. 7200RPM HDD vs. SSHD I went with this. I couldn't justify the cost of an SSD but needed the speed increase. So far it's working VERY WELL! The SSD caching for the most commonly used applications does make a big difference in startup and opening applications. It however is not an IMMEDIATE speed increase. The OS will determine what is most often accessed and move them to the SSD cache.

two in use
I have two of these in use. One in a very old Dell D53,1 which I upgraded the bios to run 8gigs of ram. The other is in a Dell E6420. In the old D531 it adds a serious level of pep - especially compared to a standard sata2 5400rpm hard drive. In fact it is no contest! In the E6420 - I can compare it somewhat to a 7200rpm HGST sata3 hard drive I have in an E6520. It is not a good full comparison as processors are different and the 6520 has an Nvidia gpu vs the 6420's onboard. Still this Firecuda seems to make a slight difference over the decent 7200rpm drive. The only question then is lifespan. Will the Seagate last as long as the 2 7200rpm HGST drives I have had in use. Seagate's rep for longevity is not all that great compared to other manufacturers. Still this hybrid drive does work well for me, and what I use my systems for. I also use Linux a lot, and Linux requires some extra tweaking for SSD - when I last checked. So staying with spinning rust platters and running the safe ext4 format, is a safe and easy bet in that context (at the time of this writing). Also - on a budget and needing space - spinning platters still gets me more storage for the dollar. So far both Firecudas are working well. Hope they are better then Seagates over all longevity record stats. Because I can't report on overall longevity - I give it 4 stars. If they have long lives then I would give them 5 stars for fitting a niche perfectly. Note: I am ruthlessly stingy about giving 5 stars!

Fastest platter drive currently available
After reading a few reviews, it seems most people buy this drive for a PS4, but I purchased it for my VAIO laptop and it greatly sped it up. I had a WD Blue 500GB which I cloned to the Firecuda 500GB. I have been using the Seagate SSHD in my desktop PC for a couple years and I just did not want to spend the $$ on a 500GB SSD , and in my opinion, this one is the best choice over any other platter drives currently available. Be aware that it does get faster over time and normal benchmarks are really not accurate with SSHD's.

Not quite what I was expecting
I had a 1TB SSD in my computer but I could only use half the space so I wanted to downsize it. I figured this gaming "SSD" would be right up my alley. I looked at the spec details boxes at the top and the middle of the page and they both said "solid state drive," so I figured this drive would be very much the same as what I would be taking out. I bought this drive, cloned my other drive and installed the new drive. When I started the computer I noticed the startup was quite a bit longer than before. I used the old drive again and it was back up to speed. I looked into the details of this drive a bit more to find that it is a "solid state hybrid drive," which is a detail I admit that I missed on the page, but the most notable parts of the page that grabs your attention say "SSD." I would say at the very least that all the detail lines that say "SSD" should read "SSHD" and give more details about the drive.

Those stock hard drives tend to be pretty basic. The stock hard drive that this replaced ...
Just what I needed to bring to life an aging laptop. Those stock hard drives tend to be pretty basic. The stock hard drive that this replaced wowed me with rotation speed and good for it's time storage, but was hindered with an IDE chip with SATA interface. Now with this Seagate drive I can get truer speeds for my interconnect. I would recommend this drive for someone who needs to replace an old hard drive, but doesn't need a lot of storage. 500 gb is plenty for me to store photos and video.

Nice little drive.
Popped the little sucker in an old Alienware alpha replacing the failed 1tb drive, sped the little guy up by a noticeable margin and games load a bit faster.

Einfache Installation in Desktop
