Can this be used to cut curves (or does it only cut straight)?

It easily cuts curves, and angles along the edge of a styrofoam block. It can be used as a sculpture tool, and even (slowly) be used at right angles where the edge of the "blade" melts the material from the side. Get it hot, wipe it off with a heat resistant cloth (NOT nylon) and it lasts a long time.

Can this be used on ice cubes?

I think the blades are too thin. They get really hot and you have to move slowly through foam. The cold and thin blade on hard ice may work if you are careful, but why cut an ice cube anyway.
