Best In Class!
The first selling point that jumped out to me when I was perusing the market for child harness apparatuses was the fact that this rig does not place any pressure on sensitive areas like the stomach and groin. That significant attribute seems surprisingly overlooked in the majority of harnesses today, which leads me to believe that the market itself is rather undeveloped, but the future is looking bright. Now, you may or may not be hesitant to utilize a child-safety feature such as a this. Fear not, my friends. Much as the supply side has a few kinks to work out, so too does the demand side. Was Karl Benz's first attempt at the automobile a slam-dunk? Probably not. Were citizens of the late 1800's clamoring for self-driving cars? No. But, while all the horse and buggy merchants were sniggering and scoffing, he kept at it; sprinkle in a little Henry Ford and look where we are now. Don't let a few judgmental gazes hinder your commitment to top-of-the-line retention options. Obvious comfort and safety benefits to the child aside, let's look at the positive externalities. Right up on top of the packaging, I'm sure you see "Keeps your child at a safe distance!" Now we're talking! Safety for everyone? Sign me up. Also, this treasure just keeps on generating positive returns because it's adjustable up to a 25.5" torso. Incredible! I'm 6'2'' / 195 lbs and that's almost half the size of my chest. I don't know what kind of crazy growth spurts your kid will hit, but conservatively speaking, you're probably covered until age 12 depending on gender. After eagerly tearing open the packaging like a kid on Christmas, you'll notice that this harness comes with a wrist strap. While adjustable in length and better than nothing, it is unfortunately no more than some rope. This, as we all know, is a huge inconvenience. What happens if you just want to tether your kid in the living room during halftime while you freshen up beverages in the kitchen? I'll tell you: junior suddenly has 30-45 inches + wingspan of free ranging terror. That may not sound like much, but you tell me how convenient it is when you come back in at the start of the 3rd quarter to find the entire party platter of nachos wiped clean and what's left of the salsa coagulating on the newly upholstered sofa. It just won't work, so throw it away and get yourself a stout retractable dog leash. Anything rated for dogs up to 100 pounds should be good - chances are good your child won't outgrow the harness or the leash too quickly.

The strap have the perfect length.
(Sighs)....if you have or know any 2 year old boys, then you already know why this product was a MUST HAVE!! lol. My 2 year old baby boy insists on running, every chance he gets, and is not aware of safety! I am soooooooooooo GRATEFUL for this hornest and will contest to anyone who opposes it! If it wasn't for this hornest, I would not have my son here today! I had latched the hook (it comes with two [2] latch hooks on both ends of the rope) to my jean pants belt loop, and I forgot it was even there. My son and I were walking around the neighborhood, and as usual he just decided to do a splint, and started heading toward the roads. I had panic for a split, of a split second, forgetting he was protected! lol. The hornest stopped my son from running into traffic! The strap have the perfect length....enough to allow breathing/walking/freedom feeling room for your little one, to allow them to feel like their walking all on their own...but also enough length to provide a peace in knowing that your toddler isn't far from you or in harms way. The material is strong and durable. I was so happy, that I purchased two more: one for my sister and her son, and a back-up in case i misplaced it or it broke somehow. THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH MOMMY HELPER COMPANY FOR YOUR THOUGHFUL PRODUCT!!! xoxo

It Keeps Children Safe
I was six months pregnant with twins, had a broken leg and a not-quite three year old who figured out pretty quickly that he could outrun Mama. When he nearly ran into a parking lot, I bought this item because his safety is my number one concern. When my son started getting rowdy in a crowded public location, I was able to slip this harness on him very quickly and easily because of the strategically placed velcro. I anticipated some snide comments from passerbys, but did NOT expect my son to give me a baleful look and announce (loudly): "I NOT a puppy, Mama!" Needless to say, my son did not like it one bit but it was comfortable and doesn't restrict the arms. It's a very good product, but it requires practicing with your child before it will be effective because the velcro WILL give if you and your child try to go in opposite directions.

Velcro exposed and will cause unraveling of the lanyard.
I like the concept it’s great. What I don’t like is that part of the Velcro is exposed and the lanyard gets attached to it.

Works as advertised
Bought it for a friend with a toddler grandson. She said it was a life saver. They are so fast and this product keeps them from getting hurt.

Great product -- I just ordered a second one
I have a big (~22#) very active 14 month old daughter who has been walking for several months. She's very fast and usually fearless -- and she will readily zip off to explore the world on her own, leaving her parents in the dust! <smile> We purchased the first harness about a month ago. The first time we put it on her at home (-- a "test run" --), she didn't like it -- but that's not unusual for small children. However, she got used to it quickly and it has become standard-operating-procedure for her to put it on before we go out to the car and go anywhere. While she likes to explore things, she also recognizes/respects the boundaries it establishes. I also find that the waistband makes a good handhold when giving her piggy-back rides. Unlike another reviewer, I have not had any difficulty with the velcro not holding or the child opening the velcro -- however, that difference might be caused by the difference in the age or temperment of the children. The two suggestions that I would offer other parents are: (a) Allow the child to become accustomed to the harness BEFORE going out in public -- take the child for walks around the house or in the yard -- and (b) keep the shoulder straps very loose -- as the harness is much, much easier to put on and take off that way, and there is no functional reason that the straps need to be tight. The only suggestion I would offer to the manufacturer is to include padding sleeves to put over the shoulder straps where they go along the neck. This would prevent chaffing if the shoulder straps are kept tight. (However, as a note to parents, if the shoulder straps are kept loose, chaffing is not an issue.)

Plastic leash slips off easily -- UNSAFE PRODUCT
THIS IS NOT A SAFE PRODUCT!!! I'd like to give this 0 stars. The latch on the leash came off when my son was in the parking lot and I had luggage I was struggling to get in to car (6mo pregnant, on a west to east coast trip by myself with 23mo son -- really needed an extra pair of hands or a leash that WORKED). The problem is that the latch is cheap plastic, not even as nice as the metal pull down latch on pet leashes. Because of that, its prone to getting tangled in the plastic anchor that is on the chest band and slipping off, especially if you have an active child running around with it for a while. My son was running circles around me in the car rental store, we went to the car and I was putting luggage in when the leash slipped out and he ran right out from between cars into the parking lot while I was screaming and dropped luggage and nearly tripped trying to get him. Thankfully no cars were coming through but it was a busy lot and he could have been hit. TERRIBLE. They should put a higher quality latch on the leash part, one that does not so easily slip off. Also, this is NOT an easy product to get on a toddler or to adjust to the size. I agree with others, the toddler in the photo has a turtle neck on, otherwise her neck would be rubbed raw. The straps do not adjust in enough places to help it fit well. The velcro is really hard to get it to line up well so that it velcros enough and is secure, snaps or a loop to loop it through and then velcro to secure would have been better. My overall take is that this is a good product that took too many short cuts, too cheap, made too many bad decisions for cheap construction that ultimately render it frustrating and unsafe to use. I will probably just sew my own, to my liking and fit, for my toddler -- and it will be safer and better.

Does it's job.
It's cheap, and it does it's job... keeps your child from walking away. Most of the time, not too much of a problem. But when your at a festival or other such place and your toddler does not want to sit in the stroller any more, the LAST thing you want is them being able to wander around to 'anywhere'. Nothing scarier and more easily fixed than with the kid keeper; even if your child doesn't like it all the time, their safe! That is what is most important. And it's easily adjustable so it will fit your growing child. -To any naysayers of the product, either losing your child doesn't scare you or you obviously have not been the parent of a young child!

Strap turning towards baby neck
Once you put it on the baby, from back the straps, turning around baby’s neck. Which is not good. Shows they need to fix this problem

A nessessity for inquisitive toddlers.
If you have 2 toddlers at the same time like I did, one of them was in the grocery cart and the other walking beside me (I thought). All of a sudden he disappeared and I couldn't find him in the large mall. That has to one of the scariest times of my life. Luckily someone found him and asked if anyone was missing a little boy. I was so relieved and never went anywhere with him again without his harness. It can also be used in the high chair, but my primary concern is still to keep them close and safe at all times. Some people may look strangely at you, but who cares, I have never lost another one of my kids again.
