WBM LLC W Care Black & Brown Shoe Shine Sponge, Polish, (2 Pcs)

The WBM Shoe Shine Sponge and Shoe Polish is a mixed performance item. I give the shoe polishes in the cans two stars and the shining sponges five stars for a total of three stars. The polish just didn't work into my shoes as I had hoped and my shoes looked worse after using the shoe polish because it worked in unevenly. However, once I used my regular products to correct the unevenness, I found that I could maintain a great look by using these sponges. The product itself is a good value in shoe products so it may be worth getting just for the polishing sponges because they do an outstanding job of shining.

From the size of the box, one would expect that the contents would be much larger.2 small jars of polish, 2 small packages with sponges, each dedicated to either black or brown.The polish is okay, doesn't cover as well as one would expect. The sponges work as advertised, shine smooth leather well - do less well on pebbly surfaces.In my opinion this set of sponges and polishes is overpriced.

I ordered this product for our home to use, but my wife used it first. Here’s what she had to say:I used this product on two OTHER leather products, not shoes but leather is leather right???Overall I’d say this product should be rated “just okay”. The color/coverage wasn’t great and maybe I was doing something wrong but I didn’t get the shiny outcome I’d hoped for. I tried a light application at first but it didn’t absorb into the leather or cover the flaws. I applied more generously two more times. It got better But not perfect. Keep in mind- my pieces weren’t in terrible condition. I think it should have been easier.It’s convenient to have black and brown colors, with accompanying application/polishing pieces. The are two most commonly used colors in our home.Like I said before, in my opinion, these rate okay”.

OK so … this is shoe polish as described, so it gets a few stars for that, but … and few things. First, these 4 small pieces come in a large, heavy, high quality, smooth box (think iPad box), stuffed with paper confetti and the 4 small pieces. The box could be 85% smaller than it is, and frankly, who cares about shoe polish packaging? It seemed like a terrible waste of materials and not very environmentally friendly. I felt irresponsible just opening it. Second, the instructions say it goes on bright and doesn't need buffing. This is totally untrue. Just like every other polish, it goes on, dries to a haze, and you have to buff it to a shine. Nothing special.
