Made in Japan, it embodies the meticulous attention to detail and superior quality associated with Japanese hand tools. The blade of the S-145 is precisely ground and sharpened to deliver clean and accurate cuts. The saw's construction is solid, and the materials used are of excellent quality, ensuring durability and longevity. The flush cutting design of this handsaw allows for precise cuts without damaging surrounding materials. Wish Iโd seen one of these 30 years ago
I like this so well, I might be accidentally posting a second review. If I could only pick one saw that I could carry onto one of those reality shows onto an island, thisโd be it. Light, not too big, will remove wood accurately and immediately. If I could change anything, itโd be for manufacturer to make a solid plastic sheath. This comes to you in a plastic and cardboard sheath, and the cardboard tears up, because as Americans we arenโt used to opening the sheath with one hand. If I had known that trick, perhaps the cardboard around the teeth wouldnโt be torn on mine. So I have to be careful drawing mine from sheath to avoid a tooth nick. This saw will rip your skin to the bone with the slightest lack of concentration. Itโs that sharp. I bounced off something and just tapped a knuckle on left hand and had to superglue it for days before it would finally close. It actually needed a stitch probably. It went all the way to bone with no pressure just a careless bounce from getting tired and hurried. Phenomenal saw for the money. So sharp itโs dangerous if youโre careless.

It's very good, but blade should be harder/thicker.
The saw is very good for small wood pieces and it is considerably fast to cut. BUT, the blade should be more rigid/thicker because it bends when it finds some resistance. This is the piece of wood I bought it for. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093JXXWYK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details

What a sharp little sucker it is!!
The cheesy looking handle should be overlooked. This is a really good tool. I freehanded a few dovetails with it. If you need a small thin kerf saw, you should try this one, flush cutting is only one of it's uses.

Great Tool
I've had one of these for a long time. I am still using the original blade. It is the perfect saw for flush trimming of plugs, and fine cutting. It is extremely sharp and is a pleasure to use.

Fantastic saw at a great price !
Performed exactly as I had hoped ! Sharp, compact, very flexible and saw retains it's flatness under multiple harsh bends ! Tooth guard and blade storage cover were a bonus !

Great for small cuts.
This saw was much smaller, thinner and flimsier than I expected. But is still useful for making thin cuts

Wicked little saw! Iโve picked this up for a cabinet fitting job I was doing. Used it to scribe the end panels into the skirting, absolutely perfect. Crazy sharp and cuts with a very neat fine line. I really like the packaging that doubles up as a sheath. It now has its own place inside my track saw Packout box !
