The BEST for handwashing dishes
I first came across Jetz Scrubz sponges at a high end women's clothing/jewelry/gift store. Really??? They had a little kitchen section with interesting products. Thought I'd give Jetz Scrubz a try. I don't have a dishwasher, so all dishes are done by hand and sponges get USED. Yes, on the face of it, this is an expensive product. But they work and they last SO much longer than other sponges. Just when I was going to see if the store would order me a quantity in bulk and give me a discount, they were no longer being carried. So unhappily I went back to the 10-pack of sponges from the grocery store. Thing is, they got stinky and hardly lasted a week and I really hate the thought of creating that mound of sponges in the landfill. About a year ago I wondered if I could find the Jetz Scrubz online and sure enough, here they are on Amazona and I ordered a few. I'm back to re-supply. They are simply the best sponges. The scrubby side removes almost all the worst food build up on pans and dishes. Food gunk, like eggs scrubbed off the frying pan, does not get permanently stuck in the scrubby side like it does with other sponges. Something about its construction must release micro particles of food and that's why it doesn't get stinky. It's a pretty heavy duty scrubber, but at the same time is much easier on dishwashing gloves than other heavy duty brand sponges. And does not harm surfaces like our glass stove top. The soft side is nice and soft and is great on glassware. Now, I still keep a little square of a heavy duty scrubbing pad next to the sink or occassionally resort to a little SoftScrub because the Jetz Scrubz doesn't do much for mineral build up or coffee stain on the insides of stainless steel pans. If you can't feel the build up you see, the JetzScrubz can't "feel" it either. And for maybe the first month, the soft spongy side isn't the best at absorbing lots of liquid. When I'm done doing dishes, I like to wipe up all the splashed water from the counter top and sink rim and initially this sponge doesn't exactly leave the counter dry. So I'll keep a cheaper, more absorbant sponge/cloth next to the sink too for the times I have to sponge up liquid. Do I mind having an extra scrubby and a wipe up sponge stored next to the sink? Not at all. The "extras" last so much longer because the Jetz Scrubz lasts and lasts. No question that this product is a money saver in the long run. Scrubbing knives seems to be the only thing that will noticeably shorten their lifespan. We "cook" our wet sponges in the mircrowave on a regular basis to sanitize them even though we use them for doing dishes, not for cleaning up raw chicken juices. A touch of bleach used to sanitize them doesn't cause any harm either. Still, there comes a point when even the Jetz Scrubz reaches the end of it life in the kitchen and goes into a house cleaning kit. It's last act will be to clean up dog slobber or something stuck on the floor, only then it will go into the garbage. The JetzScrubz last so long, my supply of old sponges is getting low.

Mine works great and is holding up well after 3 months - some theories on the negative reviews.
Love this sponge - it's the final solution after trying cheap sponges, dish rags, scrub brushes (with and without handles - am keeping an OXO one for glasses and the like). Having said that, it's not that it scrubs amazingly better than the cheap ones, just that it doesn't need to be thrown away every week. It does feel like it's a bit gentler, but I wouldn't just trust that it won't scratch a sensitive surface any more than a regular sponge. But those cheap sponges smell nasty after just a couple days - I can't stand them! This one seems to stay sanitary longer (denser material? hold less water to breed bacterial? not big holes for food particles to stick in? Not sure why) and I throw it in the dishwasher every couple days.I am confused by people saying it falls apart. I've had mine about 3 months and looks as good as new.I read a lot of the negative responses and have some theories:1) There's a fake being shipped out. Sometimes a successful product gets cheap copies. I have no idea how to guarantee against fakes, but I do recommend ordering from the Jetz-Scrubz seller and not another seller.2) Used for hard cleaning / with Bar Keeper's Friend. While I love Bar Keeper's Friend as much as the next person, I have a different sponge for that. I only use my Jetz for washing dishes with dish soap. It seems like many of the reviews that complain about it falling apart are using it for harsher cleaning than I am.3) Change in manufacturing. One 2-star review said they've used them for 7 years and the recent ones don't last as long. Some ppl talk about manufacturing in China even though it says made in the US (this could also be fakes).4) Competitors posting. Sometimes competitors post fake reviews to hurt the business. I have no reason to believe that's the case here, but it is important to keep in mind that it's possible. At this price - I would give the product two chances. If your first experience isn't great, reach out to the company. Even just buy another and see if there's a big difference.

Coolest lil thing
This lil guy has to be one of the best inventions!! Whoever thought of this was/is a genius!! In fact, I love it so much, I just bought the round one last night to see if I like the rectangular or the round one better.I've been searching high and low for either a purple sponge or a black one to match my kitchen and have had no luck finding either. So when I found this, I was soooooo happy. What's so funny is I only bought it for the color initially. I didn't even bother reading the reviews on it or anything, because let's face it, it's just a sponge, I mean what do I really need to know? When I started using it, I was so surprised how well it worked. It is amazing!! I know that sounds strange to say about a sponge, but it really is compared to what we are all used to as far as sponges go. It wipes up the tiniest little poppy seed or sesame seed or crumb off of the countertop where sponges I've used in the past would hide a seed or a crumb deep in one of the holes of it, to only reappear someplace else when I'd be using it. Very annoying!!! This has no holes, so all you do is wipe and rinse it off or empty the crumbs in the garbage. So far it doesn't seem to have that nasty smell that sponges seem to get once they get old. The only possibly negative thing I could say about it is it doesn't have a really strong coarse side to it to scrub pans with or anything, but I have never used a sponge for that. I always use a brillo pad or something more heavy duty like a dobie pad for that, so to me, that's not really a big deal, but for others it could be I dunno.I really am glad I bought this solely for the color of it, because now since I had no real expectations for it other than the color, having it work the way it does is just an added bonus ;)

USING THIS TO CLEAN UP A BIG MESS
The Original Magic Jetz Scrubz Scrubber SpongeEver since I accidentally used my wife's 100% silk chemise to help change the oil in our Vespa, I've been spending a lot of time in the kitchen. Let me tell you, these Jetz Scrubz are the real deal. One side is more course, the other softer. I have not had an issue with the seam letting go that connects the two sides. Best use is on stainless cookware where a bit of Bar Keepers Friend and some elbow grease invariably results in a shine. Works well also with dishes in plain soap and water. Does not scratch any common kitchen surface. Easy to clean; just toss in the dishwasher or wring out. I find it rarely retains an odor. Only drawback, and this is minor, the more course side can collect baked-on egg, cheese, or similar food residue to the point where the sponge becomes "clogged" thus losing its abrasive quality. After cleaning it out, it regains its effectiveness. Lasts longer than cheap cellulose sponges and does a much better job.

Nice scrubber but didn't last long
I bought this based on a lot of Amazon reviews saying this was a great and durable scrubber. Durable it was not, in my case. The scrubber side is great - it doesn't pick up and retain a lot of gunk. The back is a sponge which also helps it retain extra soapy water while you're scrubbing. It rinses clean pretty quickly compared to your average kitchen sponge too (not because this scrubber is magic but because the foam layer is quite thin). All in all it worked well, but the stitching the attached the scrubber to the foam disintegrated after a couple of months, having been used 3 or 4 times.I can take some responsibility here - I used it with Barkeeper's Friend to scrub my pots. BKF is a pretty caustic solution so is hard on plastic, and failing to rinse all the cleaner out between uses won't do it any favours.I'd recommend this as an all-purpose scrubber for the kitchen, but I wouldn't recommend it for use with caustic cleaners - they'll eat right through it too quickly to justify the cost.

It's okay...
It's only been in use for a few weeks - seems to work well - doesn't feel industrial to last that long - however it has been working well...The main reason for the comments was size of product - the listing shows - Product Dimensions: 23.4 x 22.9 x 1.3 cm*** When in fact the rectangular pad is 10 x 10 x 1.3 cm approxiametly - well under half what is advertised"Won't scratch chrome, copper, stainless steel, anodized surfaces, non-stick cookware, glass, crystal, porcelain, china and ceramics"****I've tried it on everything except (glass/porcelain/china/ceramics) - I can't see it scratching anything - I'd trust it on anything"Cleans up big messes with little effort"Okay - sure ?"Dishwasher safe for easy cleaning and disinfecting"**Have not yet washed it in two weeks - doesn't seem like it will last that many dish washer trips - see first point

A fantastic kitchen sponge.
Never did I think I'd be writing a review for a kitchen sponge. Frankly, I only bought this because I needed a couple of more dollars on my order to qualify for free shipping. I live alone, and am embarrassed to admit I don't keep up with the dishes very well. Also, I like to wash my dishes with a dishcloth/sponge and rinse under running hot water. Other sponges tended to run out of soap very quickly, especially the scrubbing kind, and just didn't get into the crevices very well. This sponge hold onto enough soap to get through a whole load of dishes and rinses beautifully. A must for anyone who hand-washes their dishes.

Great scrubber, works very well getting the hard to ...
Great scrubber, works very well getting the hard to clean parts of my cast-iron cookware. You may have read in the reviews that the 'soft side' tears apart... well that part of it isn't actually meant to be used from the looks of it. This really is only meant to be used as a scouring/scrubbing pad... the backside shouldn't ever be used as a sponge. So keep that in mind if you plan to buy this thing. As far as how durable it is, so far it's holding up nicely.
