I really like these retractable keychains.
I really like these retractable keychains. They feel strong and durable, and the retractable cord makes it easy to use my keys or ID badge without removing them. The carabiner clip is convenient for attaching to my belt or bag. I also like that the pack comes with two, which is a good value for the price. Overall, they're practical for everyday use, especially at work, and I would recommend them.

Heavy-duty retractable badge reel
This heavy-duty retractable badge reel completely eliminates the frustration of cheap plastic reels that snap or droop under the weight of a few keys. Key performance highlights: Zero Sagging Retraction: The 0.039" stainless steel cord packs an 8.0 oz retraction pull that holds multiple keys, keycards, and credentials upright against your waist without creeping downward. Full Arm Extension: The smooth internal spring mechanism extends several feet effortlessly, allowing you to badge through security doors or reach deadbolts without unhooking or straining. Rugged Hardware: Features a sturdy zinc alloy carabiner clip that locks tightly onto belt loops, duty gear, or backpack straps, paired with a reinforced PVC strap buckle that keeps badges firmly anchored. Long-Term Durability: The heavy-duty housing and stainless steel wire withstand continuous daily pulls, abrasive edges, and heavy impacts without fraying, jamming, or losing tension over time. An essential, reliable piece of EDC gear for first responders, healthcare workers, security personnel, or anyone who carries multiple keys and access badges every day.

Occasional use - Durable after 2 years
I bought this 2 years ago when I was traveling abroad and was worried about pickpocketing. I had actually used it to hold my phone. I added a "phone tether tab" and stuck it on either my phone case or directly on my phone. Then I added a steel keychain cable loop through the keyring and the phone tab. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but I essentially found a way to attach my phone to this retractable keychain. I clipped it onto my sling bag/fanny pack, and I was still able to zip it closed with my phone attached and inside the bag. I found it very handy when I was taking lots of pictures, so instead of taking my phone in and out of the fanny pack, I let my phone dangle from the keychain. It was useful if you need to frequently look at directions as well. It doesn't hang too far at all, and it was very convenient. The only reason I don't reach for it as much is that the separate attachment I bought (the steel keychain cable loop) started coming apart. I used it for traveling, airports, cities, concerts, and festivals. It still works now, but I do occasionally use it. I was thinking about repurchasing since I had given mine away.

For the price..
I will keep this review simple for those looking to buy it. I never used to it hold keys and only had it for my ID. I have to scan in and out of doors multiple times a day. Even though mine broke, it lasted longer than other cheap ones. Ultimately, you get what you pay for and I cannot fault it for the price. 4 stars. Pros: The price is just as good as some of the cheap plastic ones being sold on amazon. Good quality external build compared to similar priced alternatives. The cable is tough and over the past 5 months, has not frayed or snapped. The carabiner is my preference for having on my beltloop and I never had an issue with it. I felt it retract smoothly without issue--compared to other user reviews, I didn't have keys so it was light. The design is simple and sleek. Cons: It only lasted 5 months. The retracting mechanism randomly failed and the cable never went back in. even if you have a nice cable and external build, it means nothing if the mechanism will fail.

These are built to LAST!
Best retractable key and badge holder I’ve ever owned. Extremely durable I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a log smash into my waist or my chainsaw kick back into my key/badge holder and didn’t realize until I got back to the truck with no keys. That’s never happened with this one very practical sleek design- black in color - I’ve also had several of them break from my son constantly pulling on them, and then letting them retract no chance of that happening with this one as it has a steel cored retractable line that has more retracting power than any other badge/key holder I’ve ever used. Wine has two cards in an entire key chain hanging from it, and it still holds it snug up to the unit.-extremely easy to use just clip it on your belt loop and go I’ll never buy another key and badge holder most likely because these two I got Will last the rest of my life.

Lasted 6mo of heavy use
I use this to hold my Martor Mizar utility knife on a belt loop. I usually work 4 days a week stocking shelves so I'm constantly opening boxes. This lasted almost 6mo to the day which think is pretty good as I'm probably overusing it for what it's designed for. One day it just stopped retracting so I switched to the other one I had. I will continue using these.

Very good retraction spring preload and a coated steel cord. Virtually perfect!
These are pretty awesome! They have a high spring tension for retracting the cable+keys, the cable itself is a very thing gauge plastic coated steel cord. These are, by far, the strongest retractable keyring/ID Card units I've had. Most of the retraction units I've had in the past broke within 30 days. These have held up to the abuse I put them through without any problem. I am not afraid that the cable will snap and I'll lose the keys. Unlike every other one I've ever had! The plastic coating on the cable serves to reduce friction as the line gets paid out and when drawn back into the unit as well as weather/waterproofing the cable. The carabiner is well made and won't just come apart under normal use. This retractable keychain is about as perfect as it gets! If you're looking for one and/or an NFC/RFID key card and are on the fence with all the options... Just get this one. You won't be disappointed! I have only two minor suggestions that I would give to the manufacturer. Neither of these affect my rating and don't warrant dropping a star. First, the badge snap strip is affixed in a way you CANNOT remove it. If you want to remove it, it requires that you destroy it in the process. Doing so renders the badge snap strip useless. The only way to POTENTIALLY non-destructively remove it would be to spread the D-Clip apart so that you can remove the badge strip (and the keyring component) from the rest of the unit and then re-assemble it. I believe removing it in this manner would be troublesome and very difficult to do without damaging it. It would be beneficial to have that attached via the keyring part so that it can be removed when using it specifically as a keyring. That or use a smaller ring to attach it to the same little D-Clip the keyring itself is attached to. (See Attached Photo) Second, the carabiner should be a bit larger. It's a good design and well made, but you won't get it to fit with wider belt loops that some pants have and you can't simply remove it and replace it as it's integrated into the plastic body of the unit. It still does exactly what it should, but if the carabiner were made a little larger to fit the fatter belt loops and potentially simply user replaceable, it would make this unit better. The carabiner itself is made of metal. (See Attached Photo) As I said, I don't count either of these two things as flaws, nor do they warrant a lower rating as a result. They are just two things that would be beneficial if the manufacturer were to correct them.

Lasted 3 years and one month. Will buy again.
Lanyard lasted me 3 years and one month. I extended it and now it just won't retract. I tried fiddling with it and now the whole cable is extended. For the price, I'd buy it again. The cord never split and this is the only issue I've ever had with it.
