I'm interested in the 7" splitshot version but am confused as to what the difference is between the 7xss & the 7ss. what does the "x" mean ??

HOOK Reveal 7 includes a preloaded, high-resolution US Inland map, including 1-foot contours on 4,000 lakes. The HOOK 7x is a non-mapping GPS plotter that allows you to save/navigate to waypoints, routes and trails, but has no mapping, only a white background. Hope this helps.

Can the screen be removed for security

can transducer be mounted in hull ?

Yes just attach with silicone and it will shoot thru the hull

Can this transducer be mounted on the trolling motor??

Are you sure that the transducer can be mounted to a trolling motor with what comes in the box besides the clamp? Is that for the split shot transducer or the triple shot? Or both?

Not worth it

Do not purchase! Is not as advertised. The reveal 7x does not have GPS mapping. Worthless product and waste of money. Upgrade to a better version.

Not worth the money. Garbage

The downloaded maps will put you on the rocks everytime you go out and the extra 200$ card I paid for wasn’t in the box or unit. Not to mention the sounder only goes to 300’. And now it turns off automatically after 30 seconds

Good value.

Good quality and works fine but I'm now not convinced of side scan value. It works but I use the mapping and sonar the most. With all the functions the sender is almost silly in length.

Did not work right out of the box

Update: still haven't gotten a refund. I'm beginning to think Amazon has cheated me and/or Amazon is running a scam with these units... Help! Dead unit right out of the box. I returned this unit on March 15 at the UPS store and still haven't received a refund.
