No smell other than new smell and that wears off fast.

I don't know about the warranty. But I think it is covered by consumer protection

Will a twin air mattress fit on this?

Probably But if you are going to put an air mattress on it....just use like a sleeping bag pad. The cot is really quite comfy and im 350 pounds.
