I lifted the cooking surface off and simply reached inside and held the nuts while inserting screws from the outside and tightening them. **Q: We bought this griddle to hook up to our camper trailer's propane system. Instructions say not to do that? Why is that?** A: Maybe a safety issue. I use a separate propane tank and bought a splitter to attach my grill and griddle works perfectly. The important thing here is that you can choose if you want the griddle or the grill without unscrewing and screwing the propane. **Q: can you use a 1 lb propane tank and would you need a different hose to connect it?** A: I use my 20 and 30 Lb tanks. It says in the description to use 20Lb. A friend has a Blackstone like this and he can use 1 lb tanks. I don't have a 1 lb tank or I'd let you know, sorry. **Q: The ad says it’s propane and it came with a lp gas regulators** A: Yes it is propane and has a regulator hose for four feet. Connect a 15 lb propane tank to it and your in business. I’ve always wanted a griddle, but the bigger ones were either too large or too expensive for my needs. Since I only cook for 3 people, having a large griddle felt like overkill and a waste of space. This 24-inch, 3-burner tabletop model is the perfect size for me. It heats evenly, has plenty of cooking space, and is very easy to clean. I had one of those griddles that you add to the top of a normal gas grill, and it didn’t work great and was a pain to clean. This griddle is so much better in terms of functionality and ease of cleaning. The cover is a nice bonus, making it portable and convenient for outdoor cooking.
