WALKER AND HAWKESMen's Wax Padded Blackstone Jacket

I was looking for an affordable English-style wax cotton coat and was surprised to see quite a few under £50 listed here. Saw this coat from Walker and Hawkes, liked how it looks and the promise of a British brand and price in my budget shipping included. I assumed that at that price it was made overseas but branded here, however several reviewers claimed it was manufactured here in England. I found that W&H have a legitimate UK website and shop, and they underline homegrown manufacture. The price with shipping on Amazon was the same as in the brand store, but it was easier to buy and pay here so placed an order, being guided on size by Amazon and by reviewers' comments. The coat arrived when promised and honestly I was blown away by the look, quality, fit, materials, construction and finish. It's warm and well padded and the sleeves have an inner knitted cuff. There's a separate lined rain hood with draw-cord that attaches with press studs. The lining is an attractive thick cotton plaid over the padding. The inner label states 100% cotton and Made in England.I had problems closing the open ended zip but phoned W&H, got straight through to a young man in customer service who took time to talk me through how I was doing it wrong. It was like the old days, really.This is my experience and opinion of the product and service.

Extremely good value compared with the much more expensive well known brand. I am generally a 42 inch chest but because of my shape, I buy extra large shirts and jumpers. The coat I ordered is just large and I was a bit worried that it would be tight, especially with lots of winter clothing on but I was pleasantly surprised. It fits comfortably and there is plenty of room. It is very good quality and very warm, I honestly can’t fault it, apart from the zip, which is tricky to do up. There is a knack to it but as long as you precisely ling up the two zip fasteners it’s ok. All in all, very pleased

No need to pay Barbour prices, this is a really nice waxed jacket but it feels a bit short 33" I'm 6'3" tall. I should have checked the size chart. I've got another on order (with the detachable liner) that's 2" longer. I'll see if that feels better and return my first purchase.

this is an amazing coat, good quality waterproof,warm,comfortable and at much less than a Barbour! ery happy with it.wear it in Wintertime only its too insulated to use in mild weather.

It is a well made, snug and warm waxed jacket and although I got it for next winter the cold weather in April UK has made it my go too coat. Plenty of pockets, double zip and press stud fasterning keep the draughts out and I actually like the hood that came with it.

The Walker and Hayes padded waterproof Blue wax jacket is really well made warm enough with a scarf and gloves on a winters day.This jacket is a really good buy, it is warm and 100% waterproof.

Great value, prompt delivery. Zip works fine and press studs are good too, not at all stiff. right amount od padding, not too thick. V. warm on. Hood comes packed in one of the pockets. Not overwaxed as others have said, after all, it is a wax jacket! All stitching looks strong and pockets good. Others mention no inside pocket for phones but this is not an issue for me as the outside pockets are waterproof and the poachers pocket is available inside. For the money this is a winner vs the leading branded version. I'd buy again but I don't think I'm going to need to as it looks very robust!

The wax jacket looks nice. It fits well in terms if chest, waist and back length. The arms are, however, too short. The jacket has elastic inner cuffs. As the arms are too short, the cuffs ride up the arms and then when you move your arms down or back in again, the elasticated cuffs leave the arm of the jacket still up your arms. You therefore have to keep pulling the sleeves of the jacket down. If it had no elastic cuffs, the short arms would be less of an issue. As it is, the jacket is seriously compromised. I have a different brand of wax jacket which doesn't have elastic cuffs and doesn't suffer from having short sleeves.Perhaps if you are a short person with short arms, this won't be a problem. But for the average adult with normal length arms, it's a big disappointment you experience every time you put the jacket on. For this reason alone, I regret my purchase.

This is a great coat for the money. Other brands, these go for twice the amount. Some things to know, order a size smaller than what you wear. I am 5'10" and 180 pounds and a medium fits perfectly with some room. The extra padding gives it some warmth. I would say this is a good late Fall/ early Spring jacket - good for weather between 60-40 degrees. The zipper zips on the wrong side, but is easy to get used to. The hood is a great extra feature, but a bit small. The wax coating at first is a bit slick, but just leave the jacket hanging up for a day, and it's fine. The material is sturdy and it looks great. I'm satisfied.

Moin zusammen, ich habe lange überlegt, ob ich mir eine Wachsjacke kaufen soll.Aufgrund einer Rezession habe ich mich dann für diese Jacke entschieden.Preis Leistung stimmen völlig überein.Die Jacke wirkt hochwertig, sauber verarbeitet, keine Fehler etc. nach dem Auspacken gefunden.Und das beste, sie passt super, ich ca. 178 groß ,77 kg. schwer habe die Jacke in L. bestellt.Normal trage ich 52/54 einfache Umrechnung 10 abziehen und schon hast du deine englische Größe raus.

La relacion calidad precio es muy buena, tengo otros de marcas supuestamente mejores y no tiene nada que envidarles, incluso diría que me gusta mas. Es una buena compra. Ojo con la talla suele ser muy amplio, por lo que si te gusta la ropa ajustada, debes comprar una talla menos.

Parka reçue via DHL depuis l'Angleterre dans un emballage plastique souple qui protège convenablement le produit.Belle apparence qui n'a pas grand chose à envier à des marques plus connues. La parka est très chaude, le tissus de bonne tenue.Quelques points particuliers :- A l'usage c'est un excellent coupe-vent.- La fermeture éclair, métallique, me semble bien solide.- la poche intérieure, située du côté gauche, est très grande mais également assez basse. C'est assez surprenant par rapport à la majorité des parkas mais ce n'est pas gênant et je m'y suis bien habitué.- il me semble que cette parka taille relativement grand. Les parkas Aigle taille XL me vont comme un gant, alors que celle-ci, en XL, est à peine grande. J'aurais éventuellement pu prendre du L.Conclusion : parka très chaude et isolante, avec un look gentleman farmer très sympa à mon goût. Rapport qualité prix imbattable , à peine plus de 100€ port compris.
