Samsung USB 3.0 Data Cable for Galaxy Note 3, 10 Pack - Non-Retail Packaging - White

I purchased this item on 5-14-17, but didn't need to use it until 5-24-17; what did I find out?The charging cable wouldn't charge, which was odd. But when I took it out of the charging port of my S5, the connector was noticeably shorter. Good grief, did it break? No, the metal end retracted into the plastic housing! (See the cable at the top of the photo; that one is retracted. The cable at the bottom of the photo doesn't retract.) I have no way of knowing if the wires in the faulty connector actually do connect, short of doing a little surgery on the connector.Yesterday I read some of the one star reviews; some called this item a fake, I can't speak to that. The label indicates that it is made in China, whereas the other cables I've purchased are made in Vietnam (the ones that come with Samsung devices). Some people write that the product works for a short time, then fails. With one of the cables, it has already failed, and I don't know if I want to risk using the other. Some reviews indicate that the item doesn't charge the way a genuine OEM product should, that the output is 500mA vs. a genuine product putting out 1,200mA. Again, I can't test this.In the "Questions and Answers" section for this product, there are questions that directly ask if this is a genuine Samsung product, and the answers range from "It has Samsung imprinted on it" to emphatic "Yes", but YMMV.I hate waste, but these cables are going into the electronic recycling pile. And I'm looking for something that actually will work.

We bought a 3 pack of these cables from Amazon, in a short time the first cable strain releif separated from the Phone end of the connector leaving the wires open to exposure.... Now our 2nd cable has failed with a similar problem and we now have moved on to the 3rd and final cable. After the first 2 cables failing so bad I don't have much hope on the 3rd. The use of this cable is stationary, the USB 3.0 side is plugged in to the phone charger and the other end on the phone, It is very disappointing to have these cables fail at such a short use. I see a lot of comments about the quality of the cables and others are and have experienced the same issue we have with the cable coming apart at the strain relief... Once you start to use the cable less the strain relief the cable becomes very intermittent.... so, even thought it has the Samsung name, I"m not sure if it is not a second....it should not have failed in such a light use or short time of use!

I ordered these because the original cord, which I've been using for almost 3 years, started to fray at one end. I was hoping to get at least a year of use from these but it's only been one month and one of them has already stopped working for no discernible reason. No telling how long the other one will last.

*UPDATE 8/22/15*After using the cable for three months, it now only slow charges. I have tried a regular USB 2 cabe connected to the Samsung 2 amp wall adapter and use the app "Samsung Galaxy Charging Current" and am getting 1200-1800mah, but this three month old cable now only provides 450mah. I'm guessing the quality of this USB 3 cable just isn't any good to only last 3 months, where the original lasted about 20 months. As it turns out, Amazon does sell the real (not fake) genuine Samsung cable, but it was hard to track down. The mAH charging rate is the same as original when tested with an app and these are clearly not oem as stated. I would have kept them if they were 5ft long as described. Unfortunately problems like this has gotten more and more common with Amazon. I ordered them because it said it was a prime item but when I went to return it because it was not as described it said the item was non-returnable even though it says it is right by the order. Had to chat with a rep to get it straightened out. Will be ordering an after market charging cable that is actually 5ft long.

I purchased this since my original factory phone cable has started splitting open near the phone plug side, though it still does actually charge. I received them promptly, they were packaged fine. BUT THEY DO NOT WORK CORRECTLY!-One of the cables does not work at all. I have tried it in different wall chargers, including 2 different Samsung original factory plugs. The phone does not acknowledge it as being plugged in at all.-The other cable will charge the phone, but it can't be jostled at all or it may stop registering it. If I am holding the phone while charging, then there is constant beeping with it starting and stopping the charge, even though the cord is not being pulled out of the phone port at all. It is very particular.I am not happy. I guess I will try to return these and just keep using my original damaged one until I can upgrade my phone itself and get back to normal universal cables.

I took one look at the cables when they arrived, and I said to myself, "This is a knockoff. It doesn't look like my Samsung cables. It has the name, 'Samsung' stamped on it, but I bet it's not an OEM." Sure enough, when I tried repeatedly to put into the device, it didn't fit. Terrific quality control. When I went to return it, this Amazon Prime product said No Returns Accepted. Nice

Can't tell for sure if they are Genuine OEM. They do say Samsung on the cable ends and work fine. I don't get message saying please use original cable for faster charging. Shipping was on time. They were reasonably priced, as for the durability can't say at this time as I just started using them.

Charges faster, I wish I hadn't spent money on the new samsung charger cable's, to use on my working galaxy note 3. With this original style charger cable, it is faster and keeps the charge for longer. Happy days.

How does one like or even dislike a USB. Hmmm very good I guess.
