Eureka WhirlWind vs Bissell Zing
I very rarely write reviews, but I felt obligated to do so today after using the Eureka WhirlWind that was delivered today from Amazon. Yesterday when ordering this machine after my 3-year old Bissell Zing finally bit the dust with the smell of burning plastic and loss of almost all suction, I was looking for a review like THIS ONE to let me know if I should buy the same Bissell Zing again (the devil you know) or try this Eureka WhirlWind out (the devil you don’t). For those looking for a fast answer, I will tell you right now, the Eureka WhirlWind won by a mile. This is a far superior machine and comparatively priced. For those who are looking for the reasons I feel this way I have quite a bit to write. At the beginning of the pandemic, 3 years ago, I was forced to downsize my living space significantly. I moved from a very large multiple level place to a small apartment of 500 square feet. Like everyone else during the beginning of the pandemic I was forced to buy pretty much everything online. When I moved into my new place I ordered 4 area rugs from Amazon and chose high pile shag rugs (all are in my photos) as well as a no pile indoor/outdoor rug for the bathroom. My old upright vacuum cleaner from the old place would have handled these rugs wonderfully, but it was too huge to store anywhere in my new place, so I had to give it away. What I needed was a small vacuum cleaner that could be broken apart in sections and stored under the kitchen sink. I found the Bissell Zing on Amazon and ordered it immediately. When it arrived it seemed to fit the bill. It was the right size and easy to store. But right from the first use on my high pile shag rugs and it was a struggle. The Zing was very limited- did not move easily along the shag rugs and really seemed to do a poor job. Vacuuming was HARD and it was not fun- it was like an aerobic workout and the rugs never seemed to be fully free of my cat’s hair and my long hair. Still it was all I had and I just lived with it. Also with the Zing, which is bagless, like the Eureka WhirlWind, the filter was a paper honeycomb-like thing, which I hated right away. It was not easy to clean at all. I truly hated cleaning that filter! So ok, that’s what I was dealing with and I vacuumed about once a week, hating the process. After less than a year the extension wand sections, which were plastic, began to crack. It may have been all of the pressure I was forced to use to vacuum the shag rugs. Maybe if I had just low pile rugs or floors that might not have happened. But it did. It made vacuuming ever HARDER. Oh, what a chore. I got out my friendly duct tape, bandaged the plastic and resumed and went on this way for another 2 years until yesterday when I plugged in the Zing and started vacuuming and heard an unhappy sound from the motor and smelled burning plastic. Then I lost almost all suction. It had been used approximately 150 times on the rugs and floors shown in my photos. I threw it in the trash. Since my main concern was being able to store it under my kitchen sink, I could find only 2 options under $100 here on Amazon- another Zing or the Eureka Whirlwind. I read all reviews for both. I knew the Zing quite well and knew it’s limitations and was scared to get stuck with something worse (god forbid!) but I went with the Eureka WhirlWind instead. Mind you, there are a million better vacuums out there & more money will get a better machine, but the Eureka Whirlwind is much better then the Zing for MANY reasons. First of all, it was simple & brainless to put together. I think the Zing was simple as well. But as soon as I used it today it was OBVIOUS to me how much stronger the suction was and I did not have to struggle in the same was as I did with the Zing to get it across my high pile rugs. It picked up MUCH more and I honestly think my rugs got the best vacuum they have ever experienced. They are cleaner with the WhirlWind and it was EASIER to vacuum with the Whirlwind.Other features that I found make the WhirlWind better: The extension wand is METAL with the WhirlWind, not plastic, like the Zing. So even if I had to apply the same kind of pressure, the wand is stronger and will not crack. Also, the cord is 2 feet longer than the Zing, meaning I only have to plug it in to one outlet to do my whole place. But another thing I find incredible is NO MORE honeycomb paper filter! Thank goodness! The filter on this Whirlwind is FLAT and appears so much easier to wash. Hallelujah. My vacuuming experience just now with the Whirlwind took 1/2 of the time than it took with the Zing and came out cleaner and it took less physical effort from me. So that is something you should know. This is an EXCELLENT low priced, basic, small vacuum. I will do my best to update this review only if something goes wrong and I end up hating the WhirlWind,, but so far I am thankful I did not get another Zing.

This small vacuum is Powerful for whole house
I really like this vacuum cleaner. I have used Electrolux vacuum cleaners for over 60 years, my last one started having problems and since it was a 2007 there are no replacement parts except used ones that are very expensive. I started reading reviews here on Amazon and liked what I read about this one. It came next day and when I saw how small it was, I thought it would never work as good as my old one. I have now used it about 10 times, and I love it. My Electrolux Oxygen was very heavy and maneuvering it around wore me out. This little guy is very easy to move around, the head fits under the kitchen island, goes behind the commode, picks up around baseboards without taking off the head. Having the built-in brush is fantastic. I was always having to walk back to the place I used the brush head last - now it's right in my hand. It takes one half the space to store. The revolving upholstery brush is very good at picking up cat hair. The cord is longer, so I don't have to change outlets as often. One head does hard floors and carpet. I give it 5 stars

Plenty Of Suction!
Read the comments and ppl said had no suction, do you want it to suck up a bowling ball? I have dogs and plenty of them and this vacuum is VERY powerful! It lifts my rugs up off the floor and I have to break the suction to get it to release. I like the design of the main unit but the handle and wand could use a touch up. The floor attachment piece doesn’t stay level to floor if you try and put wand level to the floor to clean under a desk or ache etc unless you turn the wand sideways and then you can’t control the end properly and have to vacuum a bit sideways. The whole floor attachment could be a bit better design. I don’t like the flip switch on top that converts it to carpet/hard as it sticks up and gets caught when cleaning under things. It seems a bit cheap for the actual vacuum itself honestly. Maybe a softer wheel also instead of a hard plastic that sounds as if it scratching t your flooring. It is very light and easily carried while vacuuming. I like the durability of the metal wand versus plastic and the hose is thick and strong. I gave 4 stars cause I think the floor attachment needs some work. Overall decent vacuum for the price!

Best bang for your buck!
I usually wait to write a review, and here it is! I own this baby now for a few years and this was one of my best purchases. I own a Miele vacuum which is still #1 and purchased a few Dyson handheld over the years. I’m over the Dyson, price tag is ridiculously high and I always had problems with their batteries, they are not worth the price tag! This Eureka is super light and maneuverable, i love the long cord which is great for the stairs, the suction is very strong and parts are easy to use on vacuum. Love the telescope wand and the little brush that’s attached, works equally well on floors and carpets. Dust bin empties easily. Overall this is a gem, for a fraction of the price what others cost. I highly recommend this vacuum!!

Still Loving This A Year Later
I was remiss and never got around to reviewing this vacuum cleaner. It's been a little over a year since I received it, and it's still going strong.I'm partial to the bagless canister style for my "main" vacuum cleaner. (I also have a stick cleaner and hand-held vacuum.) With multi-surface floors now, carpets don't need to be "beaten" with a Dyson to be clean. This vacuum cleaner does what it's supposed to do--whatever ends up in the canister isn't on the floor or in the carpet. It's easy to empty, weighs only about 8 lbs, has a long, retractable cord, and only one attachment: the main brush, which can be lowered depending on the floor surface. The crevice tool and upholstery brush are integrated into the rod (metal, BTW), so they don't need to be stored. That's a nice feature.I appreciate being able to purchase this at Amazon and at a reasonable price, too!
