I had used Cytomax for 25 years, but they seem to have disappeared so I switched to this and have been very happy.

Great endurance nutrition, especially for long sessions. Easy digestable, not too sticky, great flavor. The only downside is the caffeine content. I wish there was an option without it.

I have been using GU products for a while and they taste good and work good. I use them for biking and they definitely give me a boost. I always get some with caffeine. Never had any stomach problems with them either.

I would not say to buy it for the taste, but GU Roctane Energy Drink Mix seems to be an effective product. It's difficult to judge how well a product like this works -- every ride is different -- but it's easy to drink, is not overly sweet, and keeps hunger pangs away during the ride. My test was a 32 mile ride after only being able to ride a couple times in the past two weeks. Plus it was following a very late night due to a band gig. Expectations were not high, but my legs felt fresh during the ride, and my energy level remained very consistent for the duration. It packs a lot of carbs but is only 16g of sugar, which is maybe why maintains energy level without a subsequent sugar crash. GU says drink one bottle every 1 to 1.5 hours, which seems a little much, but maybe not on a hot day.

Trying to get properly fueled for riding has been difficult for me. I finally did some research and came to the conclusion that the best ratio for me is Training Time [Hours] X 60 = Carb Intake [Grams]. GU Roctane makes this easy as two scoops are what is recommended for a bike water bottle and that equals 60g of carbs. I must say that the difference for me is quite noticeable now that I'm properly fueling. I have sustained energy throughout my rides and my time on the bike is far more consistent. The flavor is good and it mixes well. What's not to like?? I also supplement with GU Energy Gels (Tri-Berry) if necessary on longer rides. It's a great combination. I'll be buying more of this and the gels in the future.

I use this on tempo days during longer rides. Provides more carb than the gels and a bit cheaper price point. Don't have to leave gel wrappers all over the road and no sticky residue aftertaste. Taste is a bit bland but mixes completely in water with no residue at the bottom of the bottle.

Love this product! use every time I run, gives me lots of energy and electrolytes !
