Saved me from replacing my microwave
After my microwave started sparking for no particular reason like I had put metal in there (when I clearly hadn't), I was about ready to replace it. After doing a bit of research, it seemed like the wave shield had deteriorated over time and needed to be replaced. I bought these off of Amazon and it saved me around $100 having to replace the microwave. It just popped in and out so was very easy to install. I measured the old one and this one was a perfect replacement inside. I can't speak to durability but it did fix my microwave right up and see no reason why it won't last a while. My only point of concern would be to make sure that you store it in a flat place where it won't bend or it will be ruined. I got a two pack and the second one was stored in the side of a drawer and quickly snapped in half so it had to be tossed but still $15 for a quick easy repair versus $100 or more for a microwave was a small price to pay.

Fixed old Sharp microwave's wave guide
The first picture is the new wave guide cover installed; The second picture shows the two panels in the plastic resealable sleeve in which they arrived in perfect condition. I hated to toss out this microwave when it arced one night, since I've had this Sharp Microwave since the mid 1990's and production of it ceased in 2008 - so I could not replace it with an identical product. I retested the microwave to see if the issue would recur and when it did, I went looking for solutions other than replacing it. A little research pointed to the wave guide cover being a possible culprit. I ordered this part from Amazon, figuring if it didn't solve the problem, I'd not be out a lot of money (a $6.99 risk). The old part literally slid out of its metal guide tabs, so I didn't even need a screwdriver. Having 2 pieces to use gave me two chances to get it cut correctly - you do have to be careful... I used the old wave guide cover piece as a template to trace an exact copy. A pair of good scissors did most of the work, then a single-edged razor blade did some additional shaping, and finally, a pair of cuticle scissors (having tiny nipper blades for accurate cutting) helped get the tighter corners clean-cut. My only caveat is to *wear gloves* when holding this panel carefully in your hands, as this material can put little bits of sharp material into your skin, similar to the problem handling fiberglass - A paper towel doubled over did the trick. The two panels arrived intact, in perfect condition, and in a nice, re-closeable plastic sleeve. Since I managed to trim the first panel correctly, I now have a spare - just in case. This microwave is back in service after a 15 minute tailoring of the wave guide cover, and has been working perfectly for about 2 months now, so I expect it to be fine going forward. Thanks, Amazon - I appreciate the access to this easy fix for my great appliance.

Very easy and great value!
My mica waveguide cover in my microwave had burnt, most likely because of food or grease on it. The replacement covers from Kitchenaid are between 30 and 50 dollars. Having an appliance repairman come out to do the replacement will run over $100. These mica sheets are cheap and there is enough to make 4 covers. It is easy to cut with an x-acto knife and it only takes about 5 minutes to cut one to size and replace the old cover. I just used the old cover to trace the shape and hole locations onto the new mica sheet with a pencil. I can't recommend these enough.

Thin and not flexible
The sizing was perfect but the quality is not up to the original. This one is not very flexible and broke in half during installation. The original is more flexible and less opaque. I'm not sure it will last long. I'll be looking for a better one.

Such an easy fix for what looked to be such a big problem.
All of a sudden, our microwave oven was making loud, strange noises, smoking and flashing light so I looked up the problem on the internet, thinking it was probably going to have to be discarded and replaced or require a costly repair. Found other people have had the same problem with their microwave ovens and an item like this was the solution. Then looked around amazon at various brands of this type of item and decided to try this one and it worked! From reading reviews, it sounds like some brands of this item are somewhat flimsy and can tear easily. But these are solid and pretty thick but still bend into place without any problem. I also did measurements before buying to try to get the correct size, instead of having to cut it out myself and this size fit our Farberware microwave perfectly, not even any trimming needed. Very pleased with this purchase, it couldn't have worked out any better.

Simple and Sweet, saves your microwave.
If your microwave is sparking, absolutely try to replace your wave guide cover with this. Our microwave was out of warranty and started sparking. Noticed that it was specifically this little cover that looked to be the problem, and after some research landed on this. Got it, cut it to shape, installed it, and my microwave is all good again. Cutting it is a tiny bit frustrating because the material is just between firm and brittle so it felt like I could've messed up the shape easily, but that's not the brand fault. Just the material.

TikTok saved the day
I was about to throw my $100 microwave away because it started buzzing. I didn’t use it for 2 months due to the buzzing. Thankfully I searched on TikTok for a solution. The first video said it might be the wave guide. I looked in my microwave and sure enough. There was a hole in my sheet. Who knew a $3 piece would save me so much money and hassle?! THANK YOU TIKTOK
