But it is thin and a pre-heated grill can still give you the effect you want, even with the paper put on at the last minute. Toss them after you're done. Easy. The re-useable mat is hardy and a little thicker as you'd imagine. If I need to preheat it, I used some metal weights (made for keeping burgers flat) to hold it down while the Ninja pre-heats. It cleans without much difficulty. Over all a good product.
