Nu-Calgon 417175 Evap Foam

I have been using Nu-Calgon products for a long time and like the quality they provide.The foaming action works very well for me and the smell is very clean and fresh.Using this cleaner is something everyone should use to keep their A/C evaporator clean and working efficiently.It is an alkaline cleaner that is safe on metal and contain corrosion inhibitor’s. It is also NSF registered so it can be used around food processing equipment.

Works really well and is very easy to use. The foam covers the coils nicely and helps remove dirt and buildup without needing to rinse. It has a pleasant scent and left the evaporator coils looking much cleaner. Very convenient and effective product.

My husband uses this evaporator foam cleaner for his RV, and it works well for regular coil maintenance. Very happy to have purchased this product. Only used half a can, give it 24 hours of operational cycling, will apply it again.Major improvement in first application, learning curve for gaing access, getting placement in ways to promote foaming. It clearly is benign, gentle on the exposed surfaces, and appeared to clean anything it touches, rinses really clean.I will keep this on hand. Will become a staple for periodic cleaning an area, which frankly I did not know was possible... as this "should be" portion to annual operation and maintenance.

this foam saved a window A/C that i was going to trash....i was at my wits end about what to try next to clean it without doing damage....so i took a chance of this expensive foam.....i used the whole can on one unit spraying it right into the radiator that i positioned facing up, and just let it sit .... and after a few hours the foam was gone and unit was dry.....so i resprayed the radiator and saturated it with foam until the can was empty and just let it sit overnight .... foam went away and unit dried itself.... and its been working ever since

This stuff works really well. I used on my inside furnace air coils & it worked great. Follow instructions on the can & do not over use it, a little goes a long way. The foam itself, It does have a tendency to get warm from the chemical reactions after spraying the surface you're cleaning so be careful not to get it on your skin, wear thick oversized rubber gloves (get the gloves big so you don't have any trouble getting them off or on) & rinse as best as you can without making a mess, this is not the type of cleaner to be messy with. It is a safe cleaner, just be aware & always be safe & remember you can never be too safe. I'm very satisfied with this product as it works better than the others I've tried in the past. I bought this for the indoor AC coil that cools my home office. Dust had built up, and I noticed the unit running longer during a warm afternoon of month-end paperwork. I shut it off, followed the label, and applied the foam to the accessible coil. It clung well and loosened the grime without much fuss. The spray did have a noticeable cleaning-product smell while I worked, so I opened a window and let the room air out before using the office again. The nozzle also sputtered a little near the end of the can. It handled this small cleanup fine, but I’d plan for ventilation and keep a cloth nearby.

I had very very dirty coils on an older RV. The coal area is probably 18 x 20“. I had to apply this three times and ended up using the whole can. It does foam as it’s supposed to. You do need to use some water to rinse it. If you put the water in a spray bottle and just spray it, it does break the debris down. I don’t know how gentle or abrasive it is. It was on the top of aluminum trailer and when it came down, it did leave some streaks. Use caution rent immediately off your trailer for staining.
