This cup is perfect for it. It is just big enough to quench the thirst of most thirsty people. How do I know? When I wake up during my sleep to quench my thirst, I just fill up this glass with water and drink all its contents. To me (5'8'' 160lbs), the amount of water I get is just perfect. The base of this glass is heavy so it will resist tipping over. It is also relatively sturdy and can withstand dishwashers very well. It is also good for juice. I do not recommend this as a whiskey or as a hard liquor glass (unless you drink your liquor like water). Pros: 1)Looks good and can withstand dishwashers well. 2)Perfect size for a water-cup. Not too big nor too small. 3)Heavy base makes it hard to tip-over. Cons: 1)Somewhat plain looking.
