Question 1

My 3rd duralex tumbler has now exploded with a pop! This time it was in the sink when slightly tapped rather than in dishwasher. Seen this problem?

Yes!  I’ve had the glasses for 15 years.  There are plenty of times I’ve dropped them and they should have broken, but I was spared.  Now, however, 2 glasses have exploded within 2 weeks of each other.  It’s like their time is up and they are all going out with a bang.  I submitted a report to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.  We were so lucky the two explosions didn’t result with glass in my kid’s eye.  Those glass fragments fly everywhere!  If you are so inclined, the reporting process is very easy with the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Question 2

What is the better size for serving red wine, the 7 3/4 oz. or the 8 3/4 oz.?  The 8 3/4 size shows a photo of 2 glasses of red wine.

We have the 7 3/4 oz. and it will hold ounces of wine with no problem. We usually limit it to 5 oz. which makes it easy to carry without spilling. Excellent glassware.

Are these good for children 8-12 years of age?

I believe they would be ideal for that age range.  Although sold as tumblers these glasses only hold about 8.5 ounces.  They make perfect breakfast juice glasses for adults and would be fine for small hands.   They are quite chip resistant and are rugged enough to take a drop without breaking.  Hope this helps.

What is the difference between Tempered glass, glass and picardi.? Each type is listed under different description. So i wonder what is the deference?

Impact And Chip Resistant, Extremely Durable
Duralex tempered glass is 2.5 times strong.
If you do break one it will break into tiny pieces not like regular glass that can break into large pieces that can do more harm.
