Good DIY project
This valve is performing perfectly. I didn’t know my faucet was a Kohler brand. I turned the water off under the sink. I removed the faucet handle. Inside the handle was a plastic part with a part number on it. I googled that number and it identified Kohler and the valve part number. I immediately ordered the Kohler genuine part from AMAZON! :) The part came quickly. Removing the old one is difficult. I couldn’t budge it. Fortunately there are several videos on the internet with various methods of doing it. Some are labor intensive…one used a breaker bar. I chose the one that was brilliant. It showed using an electric impact wrench… which I have. I just barely tapped the trigger and it instantly popped the valve loose so I could unscrew it easily. I wiped out the inside where the valve came out of. I put a small amount of food grade silicone grease on the new valve threads and installed it. I tightened it according to the instructions on the back of the Kohler genuine part package. I put a small amount of the grease on the threaded faucet handle and reinstalled it. I turned the water back on and no more leaks!
