Engineered, precision bearing surfaces extend the calibrated life of the M line to as many as 60,000 cycles or more and ensure the most reliable performance possible. In addition to flawless operation at release, calibration is completely external, unlike traditional mechanism that require disassembly and the replacement of blocks and shims. Extremely Accurate-Accurate within 3% of reading from 20% of full scale to full scale clockwise and counterclockwise. Guaranteed against defect in workmanship and materials for 1 year from the date of delivery providing that they have been used according to instructions. Exclusive Patented Calibration Mechanism-This patented mechanism allows for calibration in both the clockwise and counter-clockwise directions, plus with regard to spring rate, without the disassembly of the wrench. This protects against of the working mechanism, and make calibration quick and easy. Exclusive Patented Roller-Release - This patented feature removes over 95% of the friction inherent in other click wrenches thereby extending life and providing for more reliable operation. American Quality
I looked at every review and article I could get my hands on when researching for a new torque wrench. I came across some really useful ones and found this company(Precision Instruments). Anybody who has dealt with torque wrenches and if you haven't, you will find out that you get what you pay for. In this case it was also at a decent price considering that some of the other popular brand wrenches that are made in china (plastic and steel combinations boo!) are overpriced. I couldn't be more impressed with it and this is coming from a guy with the highest expectations of equipment. This is a real review by a guy who loves to work on cars and do it right the first time!

nice crisp click on achieving torque setting
Appears to be a very well made American tool. Calibration was only (10) weeks old, smooth action, nice crisp click on achieving torque setting. Case is also well done, USA made and holds the tool securely. Item was shipped quickly and was very well packaged. I was so pleased with this tool and service, I recently placed an order for another with different torque range. (in lbs).

after a year and a half, not so good
Edited Review after 1 and a half years of ownership. This tool gets used in a home automotive shop, roughly 100 times a year, so fairly light duty, but involved jobs. This wrench just does not inspire confidence while using it. I have checked it against bench tests and it checks out fine, but when you go to use it with proper technique, it just doesnt give good feedback or it sometimes misses the setting all together, often can feel the bolt stretching. The best way to describe the action on this wrench is 'gooey'.I bought a set of three of these to replace my old set of Craftsman microtorks, and honestly I had better feed back with the cheap craftsman. The Precision Instruments 1/2" drive one does seem to work better than this 3/8th".I have ordered a 3/8" Snap On to replace this wrench. I wish I just skipped buying this, I regret it.

American Junk - awful
This Precision Instruments M2FR100F has been nothing but trouble for me. It has never worked well and eventually something snapped inside after a few years of use (it would not ratchet and click). I bought mine in 2010 and had it repaired by Precision Instruments in 2014. And Precision Instruments was in no rush to repair my expensive American Made torque wrench. I had to wait a month or more for repair. It cost me $56 to have it repaired and re-calibrated and I had to pay shipping to them also - for a total of about $67. My understanding is whatever happens - you pay shipping to them. And using this wrench today (Jan 2016), it doesn't click. So, they had a 2nd chance to fix this thing - after I sent it back - and still no luck. I've owned 4-5 torque wrenches - I know how to use them. I keep them clean and treat them carefully. I store them with no tension on the spring in their storage cases. My torque wrenches never get wet with ANY fluid. This torque wrench will not reliably click - after one click - it will stick. And when you do not realize the wrench is not reset - you over torque bolts. There is no visible indication that the wrench did not 'reset'. You want AMERICAN quality tools? Better look somewhere else. Over the years, I purchased 3 Precision Instruments torque wrenches (and I have nothing but regrets). And today using this M2FR100F, I just over torqued some main cap bolts on an engine. The torque setting was 70 ft-lbs and my Precision Instruments torque wrench, NEVER clicked while I slowly and smoothly tightened the bolts. Eventually I stopped tightening when I became suspicious. I checked the torque with my relatively new 1/2 inch Precision Instrument torque wrench - it clicked as expected at a setting of 70 ft-lbs where my 3/8 inch wrench did not click at the same 70 ft-lb setting. Using my 1/2 inch split beam for reference I realized that I had over-torqued these bolts. I do not trust this wrench anymore. When your torque wrench sticks and does not click - you may find yourself snapping off head bolts (been there/done that). On average - I have used this 3/8 inch Precision Instrument torque wrench maybe 100 times per year - it has seen very light duty in my opinion.Forget tech support with Precision Instruments. When I first purchased this wrench in 2010 and it did not click reliably - I called them for advice. Their tech guy told me I should 'warm' up the wrench. He suggested it lock the drive end in a vise and make sure it clicks back and forth. He was giving me some crazy nonsense about breaking it in or warming up the grease. None-the-less, I find this ridiculous - does anyone have to do that with a ratchet? I have had some ratchets for maybe 30 years now - and at times I used them daily - and they still work flawlessly. When this wrench finally broke - I should have just tossed it - and not spend the money to have it repaired by them. I have a relatively new Precision Instruments 1/2 inch split beam torque wrench. It seems to work with no problems - but I do not find myself needing a large 1/2 inch wrench often - AND it is a totally different design (a split beam type). The Precision Instruments split beam types are not as accurate as the micrometer adjust designs (4% versus 3%) and they only work in one direction - and you can not use them in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions. On the other hand, my Precision Instruments 1/4 inch torque wrench with in-lbs capability, has worked well for me for many years - it is the same design (micrometer adjust) as this 3/8 inch torque wrench. But this 3/8 inch version has been nothing but a problem. I believe they sold me a defective tool right out of the box - and when it stuck, it finally broke - I had to pay them to fix it. I believe they did not discover the root cause of the problem and they made what they considered a repair and sent it back to me. I cannot say anything good about this tool or Precision Instruments.
